Today our Year 4 Indigenous students had the
opportunity to attend an Indigenous Literacy Day excursion event themed "Country is Our Teacher" at the Australian Catholic University. Here our students were able to immerse themselves in some exciting and engaging cultural activities to celebrate First Nations peoples’ stories, cultures and languages. Today our whole school had an amazing experience participating in the Djalgala Dharunga Dance program!

The day began with a Welcome to Country by Hannah Jones, followed by a yarn about Indigenous Literacy Week, led by guidance from Djalgala. We enjoyed an introduction to Djalgala and greetings in language, and learned about the significance of ochre.
Junior AECG representatives took part in an ochre paint-up and a sweeping ceremony, deepening their connection to culture.
Each class then learned a special dance, which came together in a beautiful collaborative performance with the whole school at the end.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making this meaningful day possible!

🎉 CRAZY Hair and Sock Day SRC Fundraiser – What a HUGE Success! 🎉

Today’s SRC fundraiser was an absolute success, with our school community raising almost $600! 🙌💰
A massive thank you to everyone who got involved in our Crazy Hair & Crazy Sock Day and helped make the day so much fun! 🌈🧦💇‍♀️

We’d also like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, purchased or baked cupcakes for our students to sell and to those who bought cupcakes to enjoy on the day. 🧁❤️ Your generosity and support made such a difference and helped our SRC raise an incredible amount for our students.
We are so proud of our school community for getting behind the SRC and supporting such a wonderful initiative.
