Today, a crew of 5 headed up to Stanhope to assist with the Bimbadeen Hazard Reduction.

Members of the Dora Creek Rural Fire Brigade are today assisting our neighbors at Killingworth with some important hazard reduction burns.

Smoke from these burns may be noticeable and could settle in low-lying areas overnight. These planned burns are an important part of preparing for the bush fire season, helping to reduce fuel loads and protect communities.

Bunnings Morisset Easter Night is being held on Thursday 26th March 2026, from 6pm to 8 pm.

Dora Creek Rural Fire Brigade will be there with the Easter Bunny come on down and say hello and enjoy a free entertainment night.

🚒 Out of area fire call - Oyster Cove, Port Stephen’s 🚒

This afternoon Dora Creek were called to assist with a fire at Oyster Cove.

Crews are currently putting in a back burn to contain the fire and prevent further spread.

🔥 Fire Danger Rating – Saturday 10 January 🔥

The Fire Danger Rating for Saturday 10th January is HIGH, and a Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) is in place for our area.

With these conditions, fires can start easily and spread quickly. We ask all residents to please take this seriously and follow the restrictions in place:

🚫 No solid fuel fires or burning
🚫 No grinding, welding, or activities that may cause sparks
🚫 No fires of any kind unless clearly permitted

If you see smoke or fire, call 000 immediately. Early reporting can make all the difference.

The runs are getting into full swing now, with Santa using his magic to cover as many areas as he can this weekend. Don't worry if your suburb is not on the list, there are still more areas to cover in the days leading up to Christmas. We will put those up over the weekend.
