Today we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, and mother-figures who nurture, guide, and care for others.

To the mums and mother-figures in our community: thank you for your love, strength, patience, and courage.

We’re especially grateful for those Mums who volunteer with us, and for the families who support our volunteers and help keep our crews ready when the call comes in.

Doreen CFA members are saddened by the violent incident involving an Ambulance Victoria paramedic in Melbourne today.

Our thoughts are with the paramedic, his family, and his colleagues during this difficult time. We wish him a full and swift recovery and commend the courage of those who came to his assistance.

Incidents like this are unacceptable. No emergency service worker should face violence while serving the community. We stand in solidarity with Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, and all first responders, and we reaffirm our commitment to supporting one another and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those who protect our communities every day.

We are pleased to share with you all that the current total raised through the joint efforts of Doreen CFA and Epping Fire Brigade members is $22,572.70.
