What do you do on your Birthday?

Attend Cadets of course!

Unlike a lot of people who take time for their Birthday one young Cadet was not going to miss out on a single night of Cadets, and even brought their own cake 🎂

If that doesn’t show the commitment and enjoyment they get out of Cadets I’m not sure what does.

EXC Trailhead (BIV)
Day 3
Another morning of beating the Sun

Today incorporated
Knot lessons
Radio Basics
Cam and Concealment
Followed by a large activity before lunch incorporating all the lessons and more into a larger AO.
Grid Search
RATEL
PLT Harbours
Casualty handling and first aid
CASEVAC

The feedback was enjoyment of the large exercise and understanding how it all comes together. (Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of the exercise as I had become a Casualty looking for CPL Fred (SIMCAS) )

Post lunch was pack up and head back to the MUD to unload.

A quick onsite debrief indicated enjoyment and wishing to achieve more in certain areas.

Well done to the NCO’s for all the work you put into leading up and during the BIV.

✅Cooking in the field

All followed by a night activity of lantern stalk.

First Parade Night for 2026.

It’s been exciting to see all the Cadets back and there was
certainly a buzz of excitement tonight.

It was fitting to start the year with a number of promotions in preparation for 2026. Also recognising the efforts of the 4 Cadets who gave a week of their school holidays for courses.

Congratulations to

CDTCPL Towers
CDTLCPL Hocking
CDTLCPL Wallace
CDTLCPL Eves
CDTLCPL Horsburgh

First night back saw the revision of appropriate behaviours of being a Cadet at including a recommitment of the Code Of Conduct.

The whole night didn’t need to be serious so a few fun team building activities thrown in the mix to relax into 2026.

Earlier today Cadets from @252 Australian Army Cadets, Orange Unit & 235 ACU partook in 25 Australian Army Cadet Battalion ATA Barrier Testing.
We got in as early as we could to try and beat the worst of the heat. Although the look of relief on the Cadets faces as they jumped into the water…….
