With bad fires in Victoria, close to the NSW border, and tomorrow’s (Saturday) forecast being for a fire danger rating of Extreme (and a total fire ban is likely to be declared this afternoon), our District is undertaking deployments.

Today we have:
- 1 crew of firefighters in Victoria, on CFA trucks;
- 1 heavy and 1 light tanker with crews en route to Albury to bolster local resources;
- 1 staff member en route to Melbourne on an RFS Incident Management Team to assist CFA;
- All local Brigades and staff planning for tomorrow, with 5 trucks available to deploy anywhere for 12 hours, all Brigades available for local fires via pager;
- Support/Comms Brigade and staff having the Cowan Fire Control Centre open from 10:00 Saturday to be ready for any local response that may be required, until the forecast southerly change brings relief in the evening.
