This morning we received a call out for a grassfire at Wilksdale. Thanks to our team for responding. The South Burnett 41 is earning its keep 10 times over. It's getting very dry in all areas. All residents need to be very careful with any fire. Any fire bigger than 2 meters in any direction needs to have a fire permit. Permits are free, there is no excuse for not obtaining one. Contact your local firewarden for more information. They can be found on at www.fire.qld.gov.au

Another day, another call out. This time to Wooroolin to a large grass fire . Glencoe responding with our 51 and 41 unit along with number if other brigades. Then a patrol of our burn yesterday. Then home for a well earned rest. Great work team.

On Friday we conducted a hazard mitigation burn to help protect the community in the upcoming fire season. Thank you to all the team that worked hard to get this burn done. There is still more to do when weather is permitted. Once again our South Burnett 41 that we have on loan, has shown how valuable of an assett it is for our area. Well done team.

Friday the 14th of August 2026 Glencoe RFB will be conducting a hazard reduction burn between McPhee Road and Wondai-Chinchilla Road starting at approx. 8.00am. Please be aware that TMR will have signs before the said burn, slowing traffic to protect firefighters working on the road.

Then we received a callout for a fire at Wilksdale so Glencoe 51 was activated. In the last 24 hours we have been called out to 5 fires. The boys have have been very busy. It's getting very dry out there. Everyone needs to very vigilant when having any fire. Well done to the 3rd Officer first time running a crew alone. Very proud of all crews over the past 24 hours.
