Thank you to one of our Prep families for bringing in two of their pets for our Science lesson today. We loved looking at, holding and feeding Hei Hei and Daisy, while learning about their external features and what makes them a living thing.

Celebration post!

Last week, while most of the school was participating in the Athletics Carnival, Nanaia competed at the Capricornia School Sport Cross Country Trials. She came 21st overall in the region (and she was running in the rain)!

Today, at parade, we recognised our Dysart Dynamos, as well as our winning sports house, Dynamo house and Athletics Age Champions.

Campbell were the winning house and Leichhardt were the Dynamo house!

🏅 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL – 1 DAY TO GO! 🏅🏃‍♀️

A reminder that tomorrow is our Whole School Athletics Carnival! We are looking forward to a fantastic day of participation, teamwork and house spirit.

📍 Visitor Sign In/Out
All visitors must sign in at the scoring tent on the oval with Mrs Mallinson.

If your child is leaving early, you must also sign them out at the scoring tent before departing.

🎒 School Bags
Students will be bringing their school bags to the oval to help keep lunch boxes and belongings safe from the birds.

PLEASE MAKE SURE your child’s hat, jumper and all personal belongings are CLEARLY LABELLED.

👕 What to Wear
Students are permitted to wear either:
• Full school uniform, OR
• Their house shirt/house colours.

Please ensure all students wear CLOSED-IN SHOES.
❌ No spike shoes are permitted for track events.

🎨 House Spirit
If your child would like to dress up further in their house colours, the P&C Committee will be giving out prizes for BEST DRESSED!

☀️ Sun Safety & Hydration
Please discuss sun safety with your child/ren before the carnival, including:
• Staying hydrated throughout the day
• Remaining out of direct sunlight where possible
• Wearing a hat when not competing
• Applying and re-applying sunscreen regularly.

Sunscreen will be available on the day; however, bringing your own is recommended.

🏕️ House Areas & Spectators
All students are required to remain seated in their designated house area under teacher supervision unless otherwise directed by a teacher.

🚫 PARENTS AND YOUNGER SIBLINGS ARE NOT TO BE AT THE HOUSE TENTS/HOUSE AREAS.

If you wish to watch your child compete in races, please move to the opposite side of the oval to spectate.

Once your child’s class or age group begins their rotational activities, parents are more than welcome to follow along and support the teachers' running activities.

Parents and spectators are reminded to avoid taking photos or videos of students other than their own child where possible.
Please do not post photos or videos of other students on social media platforms without permission from their parent/carer.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Our 800m runners gave it their all today! What a fantastic way to wrap up our nominated events before next Tuesday’s whole school Athletics Carnival.
Now we’re counting down to carnival day!
Parents will be contacted if their child will be receiving a ribbon at Monday’s parade. 😊
