THAT’S ALL, FOLKS.

We regretfully inform all our loyal Bendigo East community that YOUR pool is now closed for the winter season.

We are scheduled to re-open later this year, at a date yet to be determined.

For updates on what is planned for the pool’s future, please check in on this and your other usual social pages.

We thank all our patrons for your contributions, your loyalty, your care and concern for the staff, and your engagement throughout what has been undoubtedly our biggest, longest, hottest, and most interesting summer.

In the meantime, as has been well advertised, the COGB is offering winter outdoor swimming at FLAC.

Stay safe and healthy everyone, and we will see you at the pool (at some point)!!

Celebrating our pool, celebrating our community with the Bendigo East Swimming Pool committee members, staff, patrons, local residents, families, past members ans supporters.

Following the Bendigo East Swimming Club’s final squad training session today, the club hosted a community BBQ, to mark the end of season closure and celebrate more than 100 years of history.

♥️Thank You To Our Wonderful Staff & Community♥️

As our time managing the pool comes to an end, the Committee of Management would like to sincerely thank our wonderful community for the support, patronage, and encouragement shown over so many years.

The pool has always been far more than just a place to swim — it has been a place where families gathered, friendships were formed, children built confidence and learned lifelong skills, and our community came together. None of that would have been possible without the people who walked through the gates season after season and made the pool what it was.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the pool over the years — those who attended events, volunteered their time, encouraged others, and helped create such a welcoming and positive environment for all.

A very special thank you must also go to our incredible lifeguard team for their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care shown to the community throughout the years. Your hard work and commitment played an important role in ensuring the pool remained a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive place for generations of local families.

We would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank our Pool Manager, Leigh, for his remarkable 17 years of service, leadership, and commitment to the pool and the wider community. Leigh’s contribution over nearly two decades has been extraordinary, and we are deeply grateful for everything he has done.

While it is with great sadness that the Committee finishes its management of the pool, we are also immensely proud of what has been achieved together and thankful for the countless memories created along the way.

The pool will reopen in summer under the management of a new Committee of Management, and we genuinely wish them every success as they continue caring for this important community asset into the future.

To our members, patrons, volunteers, staff, supporters, and the broader community — thank you for being part of the journey.

Your support has meant more than words can express.

We wish the pool and the entire community all the very best for the future.

🌊 CELEBRATING OUR POOL. CELEBRATING OUR COMMUNITY.🫂

The Bendigo East community is invited to come together next Saturday , 9th May, to celebrate and show support for the historic Bendigo East Swimming Pool —and the people at its heart—ahead of its scheduled winter closure on May 10th.

With more than 100 years of history and over 50,000 annual visits, the pool remains one of the region’s most valued community assets, supporting local schools, learn-to-swim programs, and competitive swimming pathways

It also hosts a wide range of community events and is regularly used by aquatic organisations, fitness groups, and visitors to the region. Importantly, the facility plays a vital role in supporting health, wellbeing, and social connection—particularly for older residents and people with additional needs.

Bendigo East Swimming Club is hosting a Community BBQ at the pool from 10:30am, following the club’s final squad training session from 8:00am to 10:00am.

A short community update and open Q&A will be held at 11:15am, giving attendees the opportunity to hear more about the current situation.

This is event is about more than just marking the end of a season.

This is about showing just how important this facility, and its people, are to our community.

Staff, patrons, local residents, families, past members, and supporters are encouraged to attend 💙

GREAT NEWS - Accessibility Stairs coming to Bendigo East.

The timing of this development is not ideal, but we have been successful in acquiring a set of accessibility stairs for when we reopen. Please see photos attached.
