🌟 Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🌟

Today, we celebrate our incredible early childhood educators, the passionate, dedicated and caring professionals who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every single day. 💛

To our educators, thank you for the patience you show, the relationships you build, the encouragement you give and the countless little moments of care that help children feel safe, confident, valued and ready to learn.

Thank you for the warm welcomes, the thoughtful conversations, the messy play, the big questions, the shared laughter, the comforting cuddles and for celebrating every milestone, big and small. 🥰

Your work takes knowledge, skill, creativity, commitment and heart. You nurture more than learning; you nurture belonging, confidence, curiosity and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

Little Gardeners, Big Discoveries!

Our 4-year-old Kinder children have been busy growing and caring for our very own worm farm! 🪱🌿

Through hands-on exploration, the children are learning how worms help our garden, what they eat, how to care for them, and how food scraps can be transformed into something wonderful for our plants. 🌱

It has been fantastic to see their curiosity grow as they observe, ask questions, make predictions and care for their wriggly new friends. 💚

Before families arrive each day, the centre moves through a ritual of its own.
Early staff arrive turning on internal and external lights. Moving around the centre with precision, they restock bathrooms with supplies; indoor and outdoor safety checks are completed, then setting up their environments for a fund day ahead takes place. Heaters are turned on and set to a comfortable level, ready for families to arrive.
This is a daily ritual that is vital for the centre to operate smoothly. It’s a quiet, unseen part of the service that goes unnoticed, yet it shapes the daily running of the centre, ensuring it unfolds with ease.
This preparation reflects the care that runs through our service well before families arrive to drop off their children.

JEANS FOR GENES DAY 2026 👖

On Thursday 6th August, our centre participated in Jeans for Genes Day.
It was a great chance for the children and educators to wear their favourite denim for the day.
Our wonderful chef, Nicole, also baked BLUE cupcakes for us all to enjoy. 😋

Together we raised $309 for the jeans for genes Foundation. 💙

We would like to thank everyone for participating and helping the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so that kids with birth defects can go back to being kids. 🙏

📚 Our 4-Year-Old Kindergarten children had a wonderful time visiting our local library for an early Book Week activity!

The children enjoyed listening to the librarian share some fantastic stories, singing songs together, and getting creative with a fun craft activity. One of the highlights of the day was travelling to and from the library on the big school bus, an exciting first bus ride for some of our children! 🚌

To finish off our visit, the children explored the library, becoming familiar with the space and all it has to offer. They enjoyed choosing a book to sit and read with their friends before the librarian showed us how to apply for a library card and explained the process of borrowing books.

Experiences like these help build confidence, support school readiness, foster a love of reading, and encourage children to become familiar with their local community. It was a fantastic afternoon of learning, fun, and adventure! 📖

💙🧸 PYJAMA WEEK! 🧸💙

From 20th–24th July, our centre took part in not just Pyjama Day, but Pyjama Week!

Our educators and children loved coming to the centre in their pyjamas every day. It was the perfect way to embrace the winter weather while having lots of fun together.

A huge thank you to our wonderful community for supporting our fundraiser. Every donation will help empower children in care to achieve their dreams through education and mentoring.

We're excited to share that we raised $291.37 for National Pyjama Day 2026! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make a difference. Your generosity and support are truly appreciated! 💙
