Reconciliation Week

To recognise National Reconciliation Week, children and educators have come together to create a Reconciliation Community Tree in the hallway. The display features the children’s artwork, with each child’s painting and designing leaves to add to the tree.

Throughout these creative experiences, children and educators engaged in meaningful discussions about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and how we are all connected within our community. Together, we explored our connection to Country and spoke about how First Nations peoples have cared for and nurtured the land for generations.

We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.

We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.

We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨

The Goodstart Family Shop is now open! 👕🛒

We know how quickly items of clothing tell the story of a big day of learning, paint, sand, food and fun!

That's why the Family Shop makes it easy to order extras. In just a few clicks, you can stock up so your child’s “good clothes” stay safe at home, and their Goodstart clothes proudly carry the evidence of play.

👕 0–3 years (Nursery/Toddler): our much-loved yellow shirts
👕 4–5 years (Kindergarten): bright orange shirts, plus jumpers and shorts.

➕ Plus hats, bag tags, wet bags and more!!!

Wearing a 'uniform' isn't just practical, it helps children feel a sense of identity and belonging, knowing they're part of the same group. It also supports school readiness by helping children get used to wearing a uniform each day, just like they will at school.

👩‍🍳 Meet Our New Chef – Nicole!

Hi families, I’m Nicole, your new chef here at Goodstart Early Learning Echuca!

I bring over 20 years of experience and have cooked in a variety of kitchens, including defence, schools, cafés, and restaurants. I love creating meals that are nutritious, comforting, and full of flavour for growing little bodies.

I’ve recently moved from Melbourne to Echuca and am excited to call this community home. I’m also a mum to a very busy one-year-old who’ll be attending the centre too, so I truly understand how important it is to know your children are cared for and well fed.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know all the children, families, and the Goodstart Echuca team, and bringing plenty of heart, warmth, and happy meals into the kitchen.

If you ever have a question, a food idea, or just want to say hello, I’m always happy to chat 😊

🚨 Centre Closure – Extreme Weather 🚨

Due to the Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating forecast for Friday 9 January, and in line with emergency management advice, our centre will be closed for the day to ensure the safety of children, families, and staff.
On days of catastrophic fire danger, the safest option is to avoid bushfire risk areas, and we appreciate your understanding as safety is our highest priority.
We encourage families to stay informed via VicEmergency and follow all emergency advice.
Further updates will be shared if conditions change.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please stay safe. ❤️🔥

Daycare drop-off can be emotional for parents, not just children.

A calm, confident goodbye helps more than we realise.

The tears usually don’t last, and your child is learning something important: you come back 🤍

Tips for parents to ease the morning goodbye 👋
1/ Establish a short, consistent goodbye ritual (hug, kiss, wave)
2/ Stay positive and confident (your child mirrors your emotions)
3/ Keep the goodbye brief by getting them settled with an activity or educator before you leave
4/ Always say goodbye and avoid sneaking out, this builds trust
