littleetoileofficial💦 Something exciting for our swimmers this summer!

One of my favourite finds at the recent ASSA SPARK Conference was MBc SwimVive 360™ by Max Biocare – skin and hair care created specifically with swimmers of all ages in mind!

From babies and kids through to teens and adults, the range is designed to care for skin and hair regularly exposed to chlorine and harsh pool water.

A huge thank you to the Max Biocare team for the samples at SPARK and for gifting us this amazing collection to try! I picked it up after swim teaching today and I’m VERY excited to put it to use – it smells incredible and feels even better! 😍

We’re hoping to stock some of the range at our pools this summer… watch this space!

KABA AGM – We’d love to see you there!

With another basketball season just around the corner, it’s time to get together and start planning for another great year.

Monday 31st August
6:30pm
23 Wilson street

All committee positions will be declared vacant, and we’d love to welcome some new faces. Whether you’re interested in joining the committee, helping out behind the scenes, coaching, scoring, or simply want to see basketball continue to thrive in our community, we’d love to have you involved.

Thinking of playing this season? Come along and meet the committee, ask any questions, or get in touch with Alex or Bec if you can’t make it on the night.

The more people we have involved, the stronger our association will be. We hope to see plenty of familiar faces, and maybe a few new ones too!

🏆 National Water Safety Champion 2026 🏆

Being a Water Safety Champion looks different for everybody.

For me, it means helping rural children access more swimming lessons and making sure they have safe, clean pools where they can practise those life-saving skills.

This week I was incredibly honoured to be named 2026 Victorian Water Safety Champion and go on to receive National Gold for Water Safety Champion, recognising the work I do both in and out of the water.

I was also grateful to be named 2026 Victorian Swim Teacher of the Year, before representing Victoria as a national finalist.

A huge thank you to the Australian Swim Schools Association for the recognition — and for giving me even more momentum to continue advocating for affordable swimming lessons for West Wimmera kids and the importance of keeping country pools open and rural kids swimming. 💙

Very proud to bring these ones home to West Wimmera. 🏆

A swimming pool can change a community.

In many remote Northern Territory communities, the local pool is the only safe place to swim. It's where children learn lifesaving skills, families come together, people stay active, and communities build stronger futures.

But too many of these essential facilities are ageing, underfunded and at risk.

Today, Royal Life Saving Northern Territory has released a new report calling for urgent investment to protect these vital community assets.

Key findings include:
• The Northern Territory has the highest drowning rate in Australia.
• Nearly half of remote pools are now more than 30 years old.
• Three remote pools have already closed, with several others operating under increasing pressure.
• Every $1 invested can deliver up to $25 in social and health benefits.

Remote swimming pools aren't a luxury -they're essential community infrastructure.

Read the report and learn why action is needed now: https://bit.ly/3QIiLvm

Please help us spread the word by sharing this important report.

💙 Edenhope Pool – End of Season 💙

What an incredible season we’ve had at Edenhope Pool!

This summer we welcomed over 6,000 visitors through the gates, hosted four schools for their swimming programs, ran two swim carnivals, held a pool party, and supported ongoing lessons with Billy Lids Swim School.

A huge thank you to our amazing lifeguards who have once again gone above and beyond to keep our community safe while creating a fun and welcoming environment for everyone.

We’ve also had a fantastic lap swimming community this year, with 20 dedicated lap swimmers hitting the water consistently. An incredible 8 swimmers reached the 1,000 lap milestone, and a special shoutout to our Lap Queen, Sheree, who smashed out 2,850 laps for the season, an outstanding effort!

With cooler weather settling in, Edenhope Pool is now closed for the season.

Thank you to everyone who came through the gates, supported the pool, and helped make lifelong memories this summer, just like so many of us grew up doing.

And of course, thank you to West Wimmera Shire Council for continuing to support such an important community space.

We can’t wait to do it all again next season 💦☀️

*missing from photo is lifeguards Maddie, Holly and Oscar who were integral to our season, but had already finished up.

Today’s weather isn’t looking great either! We will be closed this afternoon.
