It is with the deepest regret the brigade confirms the passing of Life Member Neale Marlow. Neale passed away peacefully this morning after a short illness. Neale and the Marlow family are synonymous with Edithvale having served the community through generations, including running the Edithvale Theatre and Neale serving the CFA. Neale’s service with the brigade included active firefighting, a member of the competition team (including the discipline team), and until today remans the longest serving secretary of the brigade. Neale was the recipient of the National Medal, CFA service medals and is a life member of the brigade (receiving this honour in 1973) and is also a life member of CFA. In honour of Neale’s dedicated service to the brigade the brigade office was named the Life Member Neale Marlow Office at the official opening of the new fire station.
The brigades condolences go out to Neale’s children Kerryn, Wayne and Charon and broader family.
Funeral arrangements are not yet confirmed.

BREAKING NEWS

We are VERY pleased to announce to arrival of our brand new brigade support vehicle!!
This vehicle has been 100% brigade funded, which in turn means, it is you, our wonderful community, through your kind donations and or your support of our annual fun run, sausage sizzles and tin shakes (just to name a few) that have in fact funded our new vehicle.
This vehicle will replace our current 13yo Medical Response vehicle and take over the reigns supporting our sister agency (AV) for life saving medical calls throughout our community. We are currently having our brigade members inducted and driver testing/approvals updated which in turn means that by the end of April, we are committed to have the vehicle online and ready to roll. Stay tuned for further info, including opportunities for the community to come to the station and view the vehicle. Again, as a brigade, we are truly humbled with the continued support of our wonderful community and look forward to continuing to serve you in the time of need.

Huge thank you to everyone in our community who donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. As a brigade we raised a huge $20,029 thanks to all of you in the community.
Thanks to around 40 of our volunteers who spent the day walking the local streets, shaking tins and having a great time chatting with everyone.

Tomorrow is the big day. We’ll be out in the local area, so if you hear our sirens or see our lights, don’t worry, we’re raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

If you spot us, please come out and say hello and donate if you’re able. The money raised goes a long way in supporting sick kids and makes a genuine difference to their lives and families.

If you would like to donate online, please do so here - https://fundraise.goodfridayappeal.com.au/fundraisers/EdithvaleFireBrigade
