33 years of service at Camden Fire Station.

On 28 January 1993, Camden Fire Station became operational.
Now, in 2026, we mark 33 years of proudly serving the Camden community.

We acknowledge the firefighters who established Station 248, and those who continue the tradition of service today.

Today, we honour the lives lost and all those impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack. As a mark of respect, station flags will be flown at half-mast on Thursday 22 January for the National Day of Mourning.

At 7.01pm AEDT, we encourage our community to pause for one minute of silence, reflecting together on loss, compassion, and unity.

🚒 HYDRANT SAFETY REMINDER, PLEASE KEEP THEM CLEAR 🚒

Today the crew from FRNSW Camden 248 located and uncovered a buried fire hydrant on a local street.
This hydrant was completely covered over, making it invisible and unusable in an emergency.

🔥 Why hydrants matter:

Hydrants give firefighters immediate access to a high volume water supply.
Every second counts when we’re attacking a fire, and a hidden hydrant can cost precious time.

🟡 Yellow paint = hydrant indicator

If you see a yellow “H” painted on the kerb like in the photo, it marks the position of a hydrant underground.
It must stay visible and accessible.

📌 How you can help:

• Don’t park over hydrants
• Don’t pile soil, mulch or rubbish on top
• Trim grass or vegetation around hydrant covers
• Report damaged or missing hydrant markers to council or Sydney Water

Thank you to our community for helping us keep Camden safe.
If we can find it fast, we can fight the fire fast.

⚠️ TOTAL FIRE BAN – TOMORROW ⚠️

Fire and Rescue NSW, Camden 248, would like to advise the community that a Total Fire Ban has been declared for tomorrow, Saturday 29 November, for our area.

During a Total Fire Ban:
• No open-air fires are permitted
• No solid-fuel or charcoal BBQs
• All fire permits are suspended
• Avoid using equipment that may produce sparks in dry vegetation

Please:
• Report any fire or emergency to Triple Zero (000) immediately
• Stay up to date via the Hazards Near Me app and the NSW RFS Fire Danger Ratings & Total Fire Bans information page.

Camden 248 along with Narellan 093 responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident this morning on Old Hume Highway Camden South.

Crews made the scene safe, rendered traffic assistance, worked to clear debris and spilled fluids.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

To those stuck in the traffic, thank you for your patience.

Crews from FRNSW Camden 248, with assistance from Narellan 093 attended a vehicle fire in a paddock area near Ferguson Land Cricket Ground Camden today. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread in the surrounding grass.

The scene has since been handed over to NSW Police for further investigation.

With hot and dry conditions continuing, please report any fire or smoke to Triple Zero (000) immediately.
