Have you been sitting on an idea that could make our town an even better place to live, work or visit? Now’s the time to put pen to paper! ✍️

Council’s Town Beautification Fund has $50,000 available each financial year to support eligible community-led projects that enhance our townships and create lasting benefits.

Your idea could involve improving public spaces, landscaping and tree planting, public art, seating, signage, town entrances or something completely different that brings pride and character to your community.

🔥 𝘿𝙊𝙉’𝙏 𝙂𝙀𝙏 𝘾𝘼𝙐𝙂𝙃𝙏 𝙄𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙃𝙊𝙏 𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙏 – 𝙂𝙀𝙏 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙔 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙀 𝙍𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙔!🔥

With the warmer months approaching, now is the time to prepare your home and property for the upcoming fire danger season.

A well-prepared property is easier to defend, more likely to survive a bushfire and can also help reduce the risk to neighbouring properties.

Council encourages property owners to start preparing now by:

• Cutting grass to no higher than 10cm and maintaining it throughout the fire danger season
• Removing dead branches, leaves and undergrowth from around your home
• Pruning low tree limbs and branches overhanging houses, sheds and other structures
• Removing bark, heavy mulch, wood piles and other flammable materials close to buildings
• Cleaning leaves and debris from gutters
• Clearing fuel and vegetation around sheds, fences and property boundaries
• Reviewing your Bushfire Survival Plan and knowing your nearest Bushfire Safer Places and Last Resort Refuges
• Checking smoke alarms and ensuring battery-operated radios are ready for the season

🏡 Property owners are responsible for keeping their properties fire safe. Council's Fire Prevention inspections will be commencing soon, so now is a great time to make sure your property is prepared and compliant.

Preparing early can make a significant difference when fire danger increases.

From 1 September 2026, late fees will apply to registrations that have not been renewed, so make sure you get yours sorted today.
