The Local Government Association of South Australia is calling for increased State Government funding to help keep South Australian jetties safe and open for future generations.

The ten Eyre Peninsula Councils are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals to fill 6 vacant positions, being 1 Presiding Member, 4 Independent Members and 1 Deputy Independent Member for the Eyre Peninsula Regional Assessment Panel.

📌 Public Holiday Closure Reminder

The Council office will be closed on Monday, 8 June 2026 for the King's Birthday Public Holiday.

We will reopen on Tuesday 9 June.

⚠️ PLEASE BE AWARE - ELLISTON

Feral bird control will be taking place next week from Monday 8th June through to Friday 12th June within the Elliston township, along the Clifftops and Elliston Jetty. These works will be conducted at various times throughout the week.

For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask community members and visitors to keep clear of these areas while works are being undertaken and obey all signage and directions by our Bird Control contractors.

If you have pets, particularly dogs, please take extra care as the noise may cause distress. Keeping pets secured during this time may help reduce stress and prevent them from running off.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

⚠️ Jetty Closure Notice ⚠️

Please be advised that the jetty and the access road leading to the jetty will be closed today due to the abnormally high tides expected this afternoon.

For everyone's safety, we ask that you please avoid the area and respect all closure signs and barriers in place.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe during these conditions.

Please stay safe and take extra care around coastal areas today.

Some jetties will be closed due to high tides and severe weather over the coming days.

Sea levels across the South Australian coast are forecast to be significantly higher than indicated on tide tables tomorrow (Tuesday, 2 June).

Abnormally high tides may result in waves washing over jetties.

Please exercise caution on open jetties.
