I LOVE weekends. Extra volunteers show up to get things done quickly and efficiently which gives me time to pursue personal endeavours.
Currently I am writing a book that gives meanings to Mr Boo's tarot deck.
The deck is stunning and I can't wait to share it with you all. Here is a sneak peek of THE MAGICIAN:
Kangaroo magic is deep and ancient but not restricted to just them. Humans are capable of tapping into this and doing great things. The power of this magic is around you, now is the time to harness it and manifest your desires and creativity. There is power and resourcefulness in this card.
Reverse: What you are seeing is an illusion, do not be fooled. Manipulation is at play.
(There will be no watermark on the cards once printed)

Whilst some people are off enjoying a long weekend, rescuers are out there saving wildlife.
Here is Caroline from France nursing Louise (Named by Caroline) that arrived for assessment via Rob from the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network.
A member of the public's dog had spook Louise's mums mob and she fell from the pouch. Unfortunately the dog was not contained so mum couldn't return for her baby.
Please keep dogs away from all wildlife. Little Louise is still unsteady on her legs and her body was caked in mud.
A good clean, a warm bottle and a pouch to snuggle into awaited her as she was transported to another carer that specialises in little tots after being given a clean bill of health ❤️

The D&C café has been a popular feed station during the rains.
This shelter came via a WIRES grant, purchased and delivered by Bunnings and erected and modified by David and Craig.
A thick shade sail was donated by a local which covered the tin room beautifully, muffling the sound of rain for the kangaroo peoples sensitive hearing.
One end of the station was enclosed as you can see here as this is the angle the wind comes from and there is a water source also provided.
The best part..... it's not far off the beaten track to drop in for a counter meal and wet the whistle 😉

Edit: Only 2 large and 1 small left

Need kangaroo face masks? Know of a shelter near you that could do with some?
A good friend made these and donated them for sale with the proceeds coming to Red Box.
$10 each +p&h (Small, Medium and Large)
There are 20 all up, so limited numbers.
(The model had the velcro strap under her chin undone but they do securely shut around the face and stay on)

So long as native animals can be returned to the wild, Dr Mark will do everything he can to help them get there.

It has been a LONG time since the rains have visited. The thirsty land is drinking, the watering holes are filling, the trees are enjoying the shower as dusty leaves glisten green once again.
The volunteers and I have enjoyed the crisp, clean air and watching the kangaroos standing out in it until it's time to head undercover for some dry crunchy oaten hay.
Llewellyn was locked in her hut to avoid her bandage getting wet which is due for a change today.
Checking in on her earlier I noticed she had parked her body on the heated blanket and was in a deep sleep as the weather swirled around outside.
There are moments of calm to be seen in storms ❤️ 🦘

What a lot of you may not be aware of was recently a disgusting human applied for a permit to build a puppy farm minutes from this shelter.
150 dogs at any given time! Just another example of grubs exploiting animals. The community came together and the grub withdrew his permit.
Thanks to everyone that objected (604 last count) and to Georgie Purcell - Animal Justice Party MP, Regional Community Vet Clinic, Oscar's Law and Animal Abbey for their personal support and concern over the welfare of the kangaroos that call this region home 🙏
