l members; students, staff and parents, living by and modelling our school values of Respect, Teamwork, Learning, Resilience and Enjoyment. We value and encourage a high level of community involvement and ongoing communication between the school and home. Dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff use a range of innovative approaches as well as proven teaching practices to provide the very best learning environment for each child. Year 1 students have been exploring Toys in Motion. As part of the unit, they investigated how bouncy balls are made, while developing their procedural writing skills and learning to follow instructions in sequence. It all came together in the most exciting way… a bouncy ball of their very own!

Our Year 1 students have been exploring multiplication using balls of play dough! They created arrays to organise their equal groups and make them easier to count, practising the language of “groups of”, “rows” and “columns”. They used repeated addition and skip counting to find the totals, and even challenged themselves to write matching multiplication number sentences!

As part of their Toys in Motion unit, our Year 2 students have been researching toy inventors and discovering the stories behind some well known toys. They then used their research to create informative posters, sharing key facts and interesting discoveries.

This term, our teachers have been exploring how understanding syntax, the way words are arranged to form sentences, can help students better understand what they read.

Our Prep students have been putting this into practice by working together to unjumble sentences and exploring how changing the order of words can change the meaning.

It’s a simple but powerful way to help our youngest readers understand how sentences work and build strong reading comprehension skills.

As part of Bullying No Way Week, our students and staff came together to create this special whole-school drone photo.

This year’s theme, 'Small Acts, Big Impact', reminds us that every act of kindness can help make our school a safer, more inclusive place. At EEPS, Kindness Matters!

This week in numeracy, some of our Year 2 and 3 students tackled an open ended task which asked them to sort a random pile of numbers into any groupings they wanted. We saw numbers being sorted into odd and even, single & 2-digit numbers, numbers according to the value in the tens or ones column, numbers with a value larger or smaller than 50, multiples of 5 & 10 and so many other clever ideas.

How would you sort them?

This week in Sustainability & Biodiversity, the EEPS Year 3 and 4 students have been investigating our seven local Indigenous seasons. We went outside to record what we could see, hear, feel and smell in the environment, to see if we could identify which season we are currently in. We were able to determine that we are currently in Guling Orchid by paying attention to the plants (wattle & daisies), bird sounds, weather and the lack of butterflies, bees & flowering gums in the garden.
