In 1924 it took only 3 months to build and was totally funded and constructed by the townsfolk of Emu Park. Now 100 years later the Old Jetty needs a little TLC and a Fundraiser has been initiated to effect restoration. If you are able to contribute… an account has been set up via Emu Park Historical Museum with Bendigo Bank for donations. BSB 633 000 Acc 217 494 798. A meeting will soon be called to address the interest of many who wish to volunteer their skillsets to this valuable heritage project.

Behind the scene of where a seed was planted.

The Old Jetty pyramid monument granite plaque was weathered, lacked lustre and difficult to read it was often overlooked by visiting tourists and locals alike. So on the night of stealth (22-12 -23) took it upon myself to gift a little glam into the stone for its coming 100 year stance on the foreshore of Fishermans Beach… and for myself to take the stance to go forward and implement the restoration process and fundraiser for our beautiful old Jetty so she may serve for another 100 years… and who knows? maybe in the near future… a generation or two, the Jetty may realise Stage 3, that was long forseen by our for forefathers, being extended another 100 metres to accommodate a deepwater port.

We live in one of the most beautiful idyllic coastal paradiso’s on earth… we have history… and a great prosperous future in this dynamic region of the Keppel Coast… and we have heritage.
Lets preserve it!

The day the Prime Minister came to town... well, as good as!
We celebrated the 100th Birthday our old iconic Jetty in Emu Park this morning. Some 1,800 toes were on the ground to welcome PM Stanley Bruce (Mick Donovan) and other distinguished guests and hear stories of old and reflect on the history surrounding the Old Jetty whilst being entertained by the Emu Park State School Band. Today also saw the offical commencement of our Fundraiser so as to implement restorative repair to the Jetty with the auction of 5 large canvas prints by yours truly that raised a generous $1,850 plus another $450 in donations.

Future donations can be made thru Emu Park Historical Museum or with direct deposit with our CommUnity Bendigo Bank

Stand proud for you are the heart and soul that selflessly is the unity in this great village community! Further I would like to thank Cr.
