City Safe

City Safe City Safe initiative by AusComply

CitySafe is a venue safety program originally conceived by AusComply and later formed through a partnership of venue/group owners and industry partners concerned with the restrictive and damaging Sydney CBD and Kings Cross precinct restrictions. (Lock Out Laws)

CitySafe strongly urges government to support compliant, well managed venues, by allowing them to return to their normal licensed trading hours through an exemption to the current lock out laws.

If you manage compliance or security for a venue, chances are you’re using manual, paper-based systems designed decades ago. But that’s changing fast. Digital incident registers are now approved by regulators to replace printed books in NSW and QLD. offers the only compliant digital incident register for liquor and security in these states and is also compliant with legislation in VIC, SA and NT. This means you can replace your paper-based venue and security registers with one digital platform.

Based on years of research, testing and proven results, is an end-to-end digital incident register and compliance platform that streamlines the entire workflow.

We’ve just launched our mobile app that makes it even easier to manage your information from wherever you are. Visit our new website for more information or get in touch with any questions.

WOOLIES SPEARS OFF LIQUOR & GAMING
This comes just after several Woolworths-owned hotels in NSW were accused of serving free drinks to encourage patrons to continue gambling.
First step for the Group will be to combine its pubs and liquor retail divisions into one, then spin off that division into a separate company, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
It will be Australia’s largest drinks and hospitality business, with expected annual sales of up to A$10 billion.
In the Group’s reckoning, a loss in the short term will pay dividends in the long term and uphold company values in the eyes of consumers demanding a social consciousness from businesses.

PUBS AND BUBS
A trend across venues is to transform traditional boozers into family-friendly oases as a reflection of shrinking living spaces in city residences.
Gone are the days of sticky floors and a fish-and-chips feed with a schooner.
A new generation of pubs has ushered in an era of flat-whites and avocado toast in the morning with the kids, and rosé in the evening.
Coogee Pavilion sits on the promenade of Coogee beach in Sydney’s east, and was once home to the Beach Palace Hotel. After a 2015 makeover by pub king Justin Hemmes of the Merivale group, the pub is unrecognisable and has become a meeting place for mothers groups, workers and university students armed with laptops.
With venues encouraging new business from the cradle comes a renewed focus on workplace health and safety regulations.
