As we reach the final day of our Winter Warmers fundraiser, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed so far. Your generosity has provided warmth and hope to those who face the unimaginable choices between going hungry, going cold, or going homeless this winter.

The housing and cost of living crises have led to a surge in visits to our service with many new faces seeking help. This increased demand has stretched our resources to the limit. We rely entirely on the kindness of community donations, as we receive no government funding.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us to provide essential support to those in need. Together, we can ensure that no one has to choose between warmth and hunger.

Thank you to our community for supporting Gateway Family Services

It might be cold outside, but our hearts are warm 💖🔥

🙏 Gateway volunteer Rosie summed it up best when she said "It's a day of blessings!"

At a time when it is needed most our community has stepped up to help. Today alone we received FIVE donations of food from local churches and community members, including the anonymous angel who ordered online from Woolworths and had a massive TWENTY THREE BAGS of groceries delivered to our service, which can be seen in this photo. There were a few happy tears shed in the office!

All of this food will go directly to families in our community at a time when the need for support is very high. We say this a lot, but we couldn't do it without you! Your kindness and generosity make a real difference, ensuring that children don’t have to go to school hungry and that parents don’t have to skip meals to feed their families. 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦

✨💪 When people in a community donate to help each other, they build a strong network of support. This shared generosity meets urgent needs and strengthens community ties, promoting unity, hope and resilience.

🌟 Meet one of the many inspiring families we've had the honour of supporting. A brave single mother, who has faced domestic violence, homelessness and financial hardship, found herself unable to afford a birthday celebration for her child after paying the bills.

Thanks to the generosity of kind-hearted donors in our community we were able to go that extra mile and – in addition to a generous food hamper - provide a small gift, sweets and snacks, a cake, and a gift card to bring a smile to the little one's face on their special day. 🎂🎁
