It has been another busy month for the Band of the 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, with our musicians supporting a number of events across the community.
Our Woodwind and Brass Ensembles have provided entertainment and musical support for a range of occasions, including the Tea in Tune concert hosted by Sunnybank RSL, as well as a number of Dining-In Nights and commemorative services.
Last week, the 1 Regt Band, combined with Army Band Brisbane, also provided ceremonial musical support for the Opening Ceremony of the 150th Royal Queensland Show.
Looking ahead to early September, the band is preparing for a week of recruitment initiatives. The week will include concerts and musical workshops at the Queensland Conservatorium and Jazz Music Institute, with concert invitations throughout the week also extended to a number of local universities.
The aim of the week is to showcase the variety of ensembles and repertoire performed by the band, while highlighting some of the fantastic opportunities available to Reservist Musicians within the Australian Army.
