On time, on target.

Gunners of the 1st Regiment recently returned from Exercise Barce 2026.
Exercise Barce saw each Battery conduct a mixture of live firing and tactical training, including gun deployments and counter-ambush drills.

For many of our junior Gunners, this was their first exercise with the Regiment and provided a great chance for them to integrate into their new teams.

From the Joint Fires Teams on the hill to the Gunline, everyone worked hard to enable our Batteries to achieve fast and accurate fires.
Exercise Barce was a great reflection of the good training already conducted this year and the professionalism of all ranks within the Regiment.

Today, on ANZAC Day, we take the time to commemorate the service and sacrifice of those brave Australians and New Zealanders who have served our proud nations in peace and in war.

For the Gunners of 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, ANZAC Day provides a chance to reflect on the legacy of our forebears. Their courage, mateship and unwavering commitment to service guide us as we seek to honour their legacy through the continual pursuit of excellence.

Heavy rain was never going to stop our Gunners from commemorating this special day. We thank the friends, family and supporters who turned out in droves to show their support.

We honour those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom, recognise those still serving and acknowledge the families who stand beside us.

Gunners of 1st Regiment RAA recently competed in the Inter Service State Touch Football competition.

Over two days they played a variety of Air Force and Army teams from across Queensland, bringing home the bronze in Third place. The Regiment is particularly proud of our team considering they were constrained by exercises and had limited time to train together.

Special congratulations go to Samson Haks and Kobe Heffernan for being selected to represent the Australian Army in the Army vs RAAF touch football game.
