๐Ÿ”ฅ Key Fire Safety Essentials
Fire is dangerous, but thereโ€™s a lot you can do to protect yourself, your family and your home.
1. Install and maintain smoke alarms:
Make sure you have working smoke alarms on every level of your home. Test them regularly and replace batteries and units as needed.
2. Identify and remove fire hazards:
Check for overloaded power boards, damaged cords, unattended candles, and clutter near heat sources.
Keep flammable items away from stoves, heaters and open flames.
3. Create and practice a home fire escape plan:
Plan at least two ways out of every room.
Choose a safe meeting place outside.
Practice the plan with everyone in the household.
4. If a fire occurs: get out, stay out, and call 000:
Never go back inside for belongings, instead go to your safe meeting place.

A huge day for Epping CFA - and one for the history books! ๐Ÿš’๐ŸŽ‰

For the first time in Brigade history, Epping CFA has reached 700 turnouts in a single financial year โ€“ with 14 days still remaining. An incredible milestone that reflects the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, who are always ready to answer the call.

To top it off, two of our newly qualified Breathing Apparatus (BA) operators attended their very first incident wearing BA, putting their training into action and supporting the community when it mattered most - kudos to Simon & Ashton!

Congratulations to everyone involved on this fantastic achievement, and thank you to our members for their continued commitment to serving the Epping community ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿš’ Thank a First Responder Day 2026

Wednesday night, our members took a moment to pause from training and reflect on the impact first responders have in our community.

We shared messages of gratitude, recognised the contributions of our fellow brigade members, and celebrated the dedication of the volunteers who give their time to protect and support our community.

To everyone who took the time to share a kind word, story, or message of thanks today - thank you. Your support means more than you know.

To Epping and Epping thank you both so much for your support and generous donation - we are so greatful!

And to all first responders, both volunteer and career, thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and service.

โค๏ธ From all of us at Epping CFA, thank you for helping us make a difference.

๐Ÿš’ Thank a First Responder Day!

Today, weโ€™re recognising and celebrating the dedicated first responders who serve our community - often in challenging circumstances and at all hours of the day and night.

At Epping CFA, our members volunteer their time away from family, work, and personal commitments to respond when their community needs them most. Whether itโ€™s a fire, road crash, community education visit, or simply lending a helping hand, theyโ€™re proud to serve.

Weโ€™d love to hear from you.

Has Epping CFA helped you, your family, your school, workplace, sporting club, or community group? Do you have a story about one of our members that has stayed with you?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Comment below, or send us a private message, and share your story.

Your words of appreciation can have a real impact and remind our volunteers why they do what they do.

Thank you to all first responders, and thank you to the community for your ongoing support of our brigade. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our Members! ๐ŸŽ‰

Epping CFA is proud to recognise seven of our members who have successfully completed their recent External Breathing Appartus course, further enhancing the capabilities of our brigade.

By investing their time and effort into developing new skills, these members have strengthened our ability to respond to emergencies and provide an even higher level of service to the Epping community.

Volunteer firefighters are constantly training to ensure they are ready for whatever challenges come their way, and achievements like these help keep our brigade prepared, capable, and community-focused.

Well done to all involved on this fantastic achievement! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

As we come into the cooler months, our days are lovely, but nights are getting a bit chilly โ„๏ธ

Making sure that our heaters are being used in a safe manner is important so our homes, and families, stay safe.

Remember to turn off your heater before bed, keep clothes at least one meter away from all heating sources - including heaters and fireplaces - and always supervise children around heaters and open fires ๐Ÿ‘ช

Donโ€™t risk your familyโ€™s safety, make sure your heaters are safe for this winter ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ

Lifeblood are urgently calling for A and O blood donations to prevent blood stocks falling to critical levels, and to protect the blood supplies hospitals rely on for cancer treatment, surgery, trauma care and childbirth. With the cold and flu season already underway, Lifeblood expects sustained pressure on supply in the months ahead, so please share this post to help them find the new donors they need to see them through winter. https://app.lifeblood.com.au/XW3k/vmhd5qbk
