Lifeblood are urgently calling for A and O blood donations to prevent blood stocks falling to critical levels, and to protect the blood supplies hospitals rely on for cancer treatment, surgery, trauma care and childbirth. With the cold and flu season already underway, Lifeblood expects sustained pressure on supply in the months ahead, so please share this post to help them find the new donors they need to see them through winter. https://app.lifeblood.com.au/XW3k/vmhd5qbk

🏠🔥 With many people making the switch to working from home, it’s a perfect time to double‑check your home fire safety habits.

A few simple steps can make a big difference.

💻 Keep Your Home Office Safe
* Set up your workspace safely and away from hazards.
* Avoid overloading power boards or using damaged or loose cables.
* Make sure laptops, monitors, TVs and other devices have good airflow - never place them in confined spaces or cover them.

🔌 Use Electronics Safely
* Don’t leave laptops, tablets or phones charging on beds or soft furnishings.
* Switch off equipment at the wall when it’s not in use, especially at the end of the day.

🔔 Check Your Smoke Alarms
* Clean and test your smoke alarms to ensure they’re working properly. Working smoke alarms are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your home.

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day and recognise the incredible women who play such an important role in our brigade and beyond.

To the mums within Epping CFA - thank you for everything you do, not only in your roles as firefighters or brigade administrators, but for the care, strength and support you bring to your families and our community.

We also want to acknowledge the partners and wives of our members who hold down the fort at home while we respond to calls, attend training, and serve the community. Your understanding, patience and support do not go unnoticed - we couldn’t do what we do without you.

From all of us at Epping CFA, we wish you a happy Mother’s Day 💐

Sorry we’ve been kinda busy… training the way we fight 🚒🔥

The other night our members took part in a BA RIT (Breathing Apparatus Rapid Intervention Team) training session, focused on rescuing a downed firefighter in a simulated structure fire environment.

Using a smoke machine to fill our motor room with limited visibility, crews worked through realistic scenarios wearing BA, practicing communication, search techniques and casualty removal under pressure.

These hands-on drills are critical in building confidence, teamwork and the skills needed to keep both our community and fellow firefighters safe on the fireground. Great work by all members involved👏
