Earlier this week, Strathbogie Shire proudly welcomed 16 new Australian citizens at a special citizenship ceremony in Euroa.

Surrounded by family, friends and community members, our newest citizens took the Australian Citizenship Pledge and officially became Australian citizens.

Representing countries from around the world, they bring diverse experiences, cultures and perspectives that help strengthen the vibrant and welcoming community we are proud to call home.

Congratulations to our newest Australian citizens on this significant milestone, and thank you for choosing to make Australia your home.

We're currently seeking Expressions of Interest for two independent members to join Strathbogie Shire Council's Audit and Risk Committee for a three-year term commencing in December 2026.

The committee supports Council in its oversight responsibilities relating to financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention, internal controls, assurance activities, audit processes, and compliance with policies and legal obligations.

Free firewood collections are still open this week so grab yours while the weather is good. Line up a mate to help you load or you can nominate a friend, family member, neighbour or other volunteer collect it on your behalf.
Each eligible household is allocated two cubic metres of recovery firewood this year. If your home or property was damaged by fire, book online now to access free firewood at Nagambie Transfer Station. Click this link http://tiny.cc/fqz7101, use the QR code.

Thanks to everyone who has been kindly donating chaff, feed and grain bags for our supplementary firewood distribution to fire-impacted residents. If your business or farm still has some spares, please keep them coming our way... they'll be put to good use!

Around 100 cubic metres of free split firewood is already benefiting 50 eligible households collecting by trailer and ute loads. Another 15m3 of wood is being hand-loaded into chaff bags by Corrections Victoria work teams. They are partnering with Council to supply bagged firewood drop-offs in smaller local communities in the bushfire area.

Used or new woven chaff bags (not PVC) can be dropped off at all transfer stations during operating hours or at the Euroa Recovery Hub between 9am-3pm weekdays.
