Friday’s wedding prep team, looking far too calm for women with actual things to do!

Courtney and Kat before the celebrations began at St Clement’s - organised, smiling, and making it all look beautifully easy.

Even better, this was taken on a day that had been given a 100% chance of rain, and yet somehow turned out sunshiny. In these parts, you can get very lucky.

Such a lovely photo, and too good not to share.

This beautiful old article appeared in the "Ovens and Murray Advertiser" on 19 March 1910, just after the dedication of St Clement’s Church, Eurobin.

The church has just turned 116, which feels rather lovely - and this article is such a special glimpse into those very early days, when the new church was already a source of pride for the Eurobin community.

I do have this article displayed on the back wall inside the church, but many people wouldn’t have seen it there, so I thought it was worth sharing here too.

More than a century later, it’s rather moving to think of everything this little church has held - services, silence, sorrow, celebration, and in more recent years, so many beautiful weddings. 🕊️

Some moments feel like milestones.

Riyani & Will’s ceremony on December 13th was the first wedding in the restored St. Clement’s, and the day unfolded with such grace — soft summer light, candlelit vows, and the happiest couple you could hope for.

🕊️ ✝️ 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝔂𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓸𝓯 “𝓗𝓸𝓵𝔂, 𝓗𝓸𝓵𝔂, 𝓗𝓸𝓵𝔂” ✝️🕊️

When I first moved into the St Clement’s property and was being kindly shown around by Helen and Leanne Saines, they pointed out in the church a wooden shelf they’d never seen before. They didn't know where it had come from — a beautifully carved piece bearing the words “Holy, Holy, Holy” across the front, though it was in rough shape and certainly hadn’t been part of the original church furnishings.

For a long time it has sat quietly among the many church things waiting their turn for attention. But this week, I’m happy to report it’s been fully restored (is there anything Pete can't do?) — and it now has pride of place in the chancel, just behind the restored pulpit. It looks absolutely at home there, glowing with new life and old mystery.

The phrase “Holy, Holy, Holy” comes from the book of Isaiah 6:3, where the prophet sees a vision of angels crying out “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” It’s one of the most ancient declarations of awe — a way of naming what’s beyond words.

So this once-forgotten carving has found a new meaning here: a reminder that sacredness can outlast our memory of where it began.

If anyone recognises this piece or knows where it might have originally belonged, I’d love to hear from you — it would be wonderful to fill in another missing piece of the church’s story.

I'm so pleased to share that St Clement’s Church now has a beautifully crafted, portable, wooden wheelchair-access ramp available for the front entrance!

Thanks to Pete’s thoughtful handiwork, the church is now easier to access for everyone — whether you’re arriving with wheels, prams, or a wobbly knee or two. It’s a simple addition that makes a real difference and helps ensure our little church remains open and welcoming to all.

What makes a place feel sacred even after the rituals have stopped?

I’ve just finished writing a reflective piece about St Clement’s, life in Eurobin over the last century, and what it means for a place to carry memory – long after the rituals fade.

From wartime farewells and Spanish flu funerals to hop harvests, whispered prayers and quiet weddings, this little timber building has held more than most people realise. If you’ve ever felt something shift when you step into an old space, even one no longer religious, this story is for you.

👉 Read the full piece here (and there's some amazing photos too!):

This pre-restoration view of St Clements Church, Eurobin, shows the timber chapel nestled beneath leafy branches, its weathered boards and rusted roof a testament to decades of endurance. The soft light filtering through the canopy highlights both the building’s age and the surrounding garden’s ...

I’m absolutely delighted with my stunning new website - it’s everything I hoped for and more: stylish, soulful, and beautifully crafted.

I wanted it to feel like stepping into the space itself - inviting, atmospheric, and full of moments worth lingering over. Thanks to the wonderful Rachael at Studio Vela (and her magic behind the lens at Rachael Emmily Photography), it’s exactly that.

Brew a coffee, take a little stroll through the pages, and let me know what you love most.

The outhouse is 99.9% finished and looking amazing! I’m so delighted - now the church really is wedding-ready! ✨

We laid plans for this little building way back when restoration of the church began, and now it’s finally come to fruition.

A huge thank you to Barb Evans & Bob for generously donating the tin for the roof - it looks so good!

One final ask to get it over the line: if anyone has some roll-top roof capping to help finish the job properly, I’d love to hear from you. It’s available at Dahlsen’s, but aged capping would match the roof far better. We only need 3.2 metres and I’m happy to pay a reasonable price if you’ve got some tucked away!
