A review of G&R Admin
Most of us have admin we avoid. For some people it’s working out how their phone
or ipad works, for others it might be entering data or other ‘grunt’ admin tasks.
For me it’s dealing with government departments and organisations, especially when
there’s technology involved – you know those forms or sites that never do what
they’re supposed to? They drive me crazy and I want to run for the hills. Mostly I
try to ignore them, knowing they have to be ‘done’, but feeling utterly incapable of
‘doing’ them.
I have known Gillian McDiarmid for many years as a Justice of the Peace, so when I
learned she had started her own admin business I approached her about a situation
involving a Tasmanian government department, a national government department
(neither of which talk to each other, of course), and technology that just would not
do what it was supposed to. I had been trying to resolve this since February, and
had sought help from several government departments, with no success.
I spoke to Gillian, explained the problem, demonstrated where it all went wrong. I
told her how stressful it had been and how many hours I had wasted trying to
resolve it.
Gill went away to work on it. It took her 1 hour to complete.
1 hour!!! I had spent weeks on it (and even more weeks avoiding it.) It had been
haunting me for six months, because I knew it just had to be done.
I cannot recommend Gillian’s services highly enough and have just passed over
another curly admin issue to her which involves - you guessed it - government
departments and technology. I’ve decided life is too short to waste it stressing over
tasks that I can’t do but somebody else can. If Gillian is that ‘somebody’, she can do
it easily and at very little cost.
If you’re avoiding anything in the admin field that you know really needs to be done,
and especially if it’s causing you stress or distress, I’d recommend you have a chat
with Gillian and see if she can make all that pain disappear, and get the job done.
