Roam the Dome

Roam the Dome Campaign to re-open the Royal Exhibition Building Dome promenade walk. We look forward to roaming the dome with you.

Melbourne has a World Heritage site in the very heart of the city, and we'd like access to it. We'd like its refurbishment and reopening to be given the highest priority for state and/or federal funding. Early in the new year we'll write to the ministers, asking them to visit this page and provide their own comments on funding the site. We ask that you 'like' our site, and post a comment on our wa

ll, so that the relevant ministers will become aware of the great community support for this project and not let this site remain closed to us all. We hope that you will enjoy and share the photos, links and information here with your neighbours and friends. Fitzroy, Carlton and Melbourne resident groups.

The Melbourne Museum, Carlton Residents Association and Fitzroy Residents Association have joined forces to obtain government funding to restore the viewing area at the base of the Royal Exhibition Building dome to its former glory including a passenger elevator. http://carlton.vic.au/about-carlton/royal-exhibition-building-viewing-promenade

The Carlton Community Website enables the coordination of information, events and discussions across Carlton and create a digital meeting space for the community.
