Want to help make WA greener and cooler? 🌳 The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation has launched two new initiatives to help you do just that!

Western Australian residents can now get a $150 rebate for planting a native tree on their private property.

Here's how:

· Treebate: A $150 rebate for any resident over 18 who plants a new native tree. Up to 10,000 rebates are available each year for the next four years.

· WA Tree Recovery Program: If you've had to remove a tree due to the invasive Polyphagous shot-hole borer, you can claim a $150 rebate for each replacement tree you plant.

You can claim your rebate through the ServiceWA app or a paper claim form that can be downloaded from the DWER website. Click here for the forms and for more information: https://loom.ly/_rB5_NQ and https://loom.ly/m4JOO4Y

Let's make the Town of Cambridge greener, one tree at a time! 🌿

The Town is aware of damage to the fence at the Galup dog exercise area along Lake Monger Drive, near the freeway entrance, and is working to resolve the issue. ⚠️

As dogs may be able to leave the fenced area, dog owners are asked to take extra care and keep their dogs under safe and effective control when using the area.

If you have any information about the incident, please contact the Town.

Students from Bob Hawke College’s inclusion program visited the Town of Cambridge this week to learn more about careers in community services. 🤝

As part of the excursion, students rotated through sessions with our Community Development, Facilities and Library teams, gaining an insight into the different roles that help support our community. 📚

The visit finished with morning tea and a chance for students to ask questions and learn more about working in local government. 💬🍉

A big thank you to Bob Hawke College for visiting us! 😊

This World Elder Abuse Awareness Day — Monday 15 June — we're shining a light on a issue that often goes unspoken. Elder abuse can be financial, emotional, physical, or social, and is frequently carried out by someone the person trusts.

Help is available. If you or someone you care about needs support, reach out to the WA Elder Abuse Helpline.
