Hi Everyone, just wanted to let you know that even though we haven't posted here at Stapleton Mercer for a couple of weeks we have busily been working in the background. We have been getting all the appropriate Policies and Procedures started to ensure that we are delivering service to you in the appropriate manner. In addition to providing information to you, we will also be delivering a host of other services. Watch this space as we will be posting this very shortly.

Wondering about the name of the service, why Stapleton Mercer? Well it is honor of 3 amazing men from my family. The first Eden and his Older Brother John Stapleton. They both lost their lives fighting in France in 1917 and 1918. They were from a little town on the South Coast of NSW, Quaama and were heavily involved in their communities.

The other is my Great Grandfather, John Mercer he married Eden and John's Sister, Mary. Again from the same area and also very dedicated to his community. His life too was cut tragically short. No photo of him unfortunately but I found this amazing article detailing the day he was lost.

Our Care Coordinators are all aware of what a privilege it is to be invited into your lives and to share in your stories. We want you to know that we work inline with the National Disability Standards and the Dept of Health and Ageing's Home Care Standards.

We welcome all feedback and encourage you to know your right to complain should we not deliver on an expectation that you had. We would also love to hear if we did something well.

Stapleton Mercer Community Services is committed to the local community. Our Care Coordinators live here too and they take pride in giving assistance whenever it is needed.

We will never have all of the answers to every situation that a member of the community might find themselves in. But we will work hard to ensure that no one hangs up the phone or walks out our door without another option under their arm. Even if that option is just lending an ear for a while. Our whole team are great listeners.

The unique thing with our team of Care Coordinator's is that like you, we have had our share of rough patches in life.

What we've learned from this, is how hard it can be to put your hand up and ask for help, let alone say that you aren't coping with things. Especially when you don't know us from a bar of soap.
