Dear All,
AusAlert is a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices. It uses cell-broadcast technology to send urgent, location-based safety messages directly to compatible mobile devices during disasters. It is designed to notify you of emergencies like bushfires, floods, security threats, or severe health incidents.
Below are the details of a National test occurring:
AusAlert
• National Test Monday 27th July
• 1.30 pm SA Time
• Critical Alert – Test – no action required
• Do not call Triple 0
The test will activate a loud siren like sound even if your phone is on silent or “Do not disturb”. To avoid being disturbed, you will need to turn your mobile device off or switch it to airplane mode during the test window.
