August 31st marks 25 years of International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜💚

At St Pat’s, we’ve been providing access to take-home naloxone kits for more than 10 years. During that time, our Crossroads team has helped people build the knowledge and confidence to respond to an opioid overdose, when it matters most.

We call them overdose lifesavers.

Today we share our grief at the loss of our loved ones, the people behind the statistics. But we’re also taking a moment to celebrate the many lives who’ve been saved thanks to harm-reduction, outreach support and naloxone intervention.

Wear it purple! 💜⚓️

Some very special guests dropped by our Hub today, making sure our Fremantle Dockers super fans can be part of the finals fever sweeping across Freo! 💜

A huge thanks to Captain alexpearce25 and all the players for stopping by, getting stuck into the decorating and bringing that purple magic. 🔮

And on Wear it Purple Day, it felt especially fitting to be celebrating what community is all about: connection, belonging, and acceptance.

Because courage isn’t only found in the big moments. It’s in the everyday choice to live proudly, invite others in and create spaces where people feel welcome and celebrated.

Today, we got to do a little of that together. 💜🌈

Go Freo!

Sunday roast at Nan’s 🥔💚

For many of us, there’s something powerful about those memories. The smell of roast potatoes, gravy on the table, the aunties with the loud laugh.

For Homelessness Week, our Crossroads team recreated Sunday Roast at Nan’s to bring more than 130 people together, sharing good food, memories and connection.

Because home is more than four walls. It’s knowing you have a place where you belong.

Booraka Danjoo means Brave Together, because no one person or organisation can end homelessness by themselves.

We’re proud to work alongside the incredibly dedicated workers, volunteers and people with lived, and living, experience of homelessness in our region. It’s a privilege to be entrusted with this work, and we pledge to keep being brave, and bold, as we continue to support people experiencing homelessness in our community on the path to home.

Expanding outreach means more support for Western Australians experiencing rough sleeping, when and where they need it.

I'm pleased to announce that St. Patrick's Community Support Centre has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver the new Booraka Danjoo Coordinated Outreach Service across Perth's southern suburbs from October.

Booraka Danjoo is about meeting people where they are, building trust, and connecting them with the support, accommodation and housing they need to improve their circumstances.

This is another important step in delivering All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia's 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness, backed by the Cook Labor Government's record $10.8 billion investment in Housing and Homelessness measures.

We’re proud to be walking alongside these amazing services, and people. 💚

We’re proud to be part of the Kindness Collective 💚, bringing local organisations together to better support people doing it tough across the Bindjareb region.

By working together, we can make support easier to find, strengthen local connections and help ensure people are met with kindness, dignity and respect.

During Homelessness Awareness Week, we’ll be joining local services at Mandurah Forum on Tuesday August 4th, between 9am and 1pm.

All of us at St Pat's are grateful for the wonderful gift of working on Whadjuk and Binjareb Noongar Boodja.

We're proud to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, today and every day. We also recognise the extraordinary privilege we have in celebrating 50 Years of NAIDOC Week! To listen, learn, share some delicious food and be included in half a century of cultural pride is truly special.

Thank you to everyone who came together to make today happen. You’re Deadly.

We also give our thanks to all those who paved the way, over the past 50 years, and look forward to seeing the next generation move forward, guided by the spirit of culture, country and community.

When Katelyn's partner was diagnosed with cancer, her family lost more than their income, they lost their home.

With nowhere else to go, Katelyn, her partner and their two young daughters lived in a tent near their daughter's school, doing everything they could to keep life as normal as possible.

Today they’re safely housed with support from St Pat's. But this winter, more individuals and families are facing homelessness and need somewhere safe to turn.

This EOFY, your tax-deductible gift can help provide support and practical assistance to people doing it tough. And during our matched giving window, every donation will be doubled, giving your generosity twice the impact!!

Please give before 30 June and help change a life this winter. 💚
