On Fridays in August we will be re-sharing a poetry prompt 🖊️from Red Room Poetry’s national Writing Competition, which you can enter via on Instagram and Facebook to win book prizes from Dymocks. 📖

You can also submit your poetry 🗒️to our local entry competition, which will be judged in-house by Fremantle Library staff. For local entry, you can physically submit a poem at the Library front desk 📮and go in the running to win a subscription to Westerly Magazine.

Come down to Fremantle Library on Thursday August 6 🎤 for an evening of powerful rhythms, rhymes, shared resistance, joy, celebration, learning and connection. ✨

Presented for Poetry Month in partnership with Red Room Poetry, and curated by Luisa Mitchell, Blak Ink is a dedicated space for First Nations poets to come together, speak, and be heard on our own terms.

A selection of First Nations books 📚 will be available for sale at the event, and light refreshments will be provided. 🍵 Don’t miss it!
