Fremantle Ports is proud to support the Watercolour Society of WA Inc through our Community Investment Program. Don’t miss the 4th International Watercolour Exhibition at Customs House 11-23 June.

Over the weekend, Fremantle Ports evacuated all commercial vessels from our harbours as a precaution ahead of severe weather.

These decisions are never taken lightly, but safety always comes first - for our people, the community and everyone on the water. While it might seem unusual, ships are often safer at sea than in port during severe weather.

As conditions begin to ease today, vessels will gradually return and normal operations will resume.

Many in the community made their way to South Mole to watch the dramatic conditions firsthand. It was a powerful reminder of just how strong these weather systems can be. Unfortunately, North Mole has sustained storm damage and will remain closed while repairs are carried out.

Thank you to everyone who followed safety advice over the weekend.

For the latest updates on reopening North Mole, please visit our website.

We were proud to stand 'All in' for reconciliation at today’s National Reconciliation Week Breakfast at Optus Stadium.

In Kwinana, local Noongar man Rueben Hayden Nelson shared powerful truths with our Kwinana Bulk Terminal team, grounding the importance of history and understanding.

This week, across the organisation we’re asking: How will you take action to make change?

After hosting the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast last year at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, we are proud to build on our commitment to reconciliation by announcing our 2026 partnership with Reconciliation WA .

This partnership continues our commitment to reconciliation - helping to deliver our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan commitments and drive meaningful outcomes for community:
• more opportunities for Aboriginal businesses
• pathways into education, training and long-term jobs
• deeper, ongoing engagement with Aboriginal communities

As Fremantle Ports delivers major projects and drives the future of trade, we are focused on ensuring the benefits are shared with the communities we work alongside.

Across Fremantle, Kwinana, Cockburn and Rockingham these commitments are being built into how we plan and deliver projects, ensuring growth creates real, lasting outcomes for community.

Fremantle Ports is proud to host the only Australian leg of the 2027 Australia Sail Grand Prix in February at Victoria Quay!

With support from the WA Government through Tourism WA , we’re bringing SailGP back to Fremantle in 2027.

Fremantle delivered an unforgettable SailGP event this year with record speeds, packed crowds, and the iconic Fremantle Doctor powering the action.

Today is the International Day for Women in Maritime. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the women across our industry – and importantly, the many women at Fremantle Ports who play a vital role in our work every day.

Globally, the day highlights the importance of attracting, retaining and supporting women in maritime, as well as raising their profile and addressing the ongoing gender imbalance across the sector.

While progress is being made - since 2015 the number of female seafarers has increased by 45.8% - women remain significantly underrepresented in the maritime sector. Current figures from the International Maritime Organisation show:

- less than 2% of the global seafaring workforce are women
- around 5% of Australia’s seafaring workforce are women
- around 3% of Australia’s shore-based maritime workforce are women.

At Fremantle Ports, we remain committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive and help shape the future of our industry.

Today, Fremantle Ports was proud to sponsor an event for members of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA Australia), bringing together professionals from across Perth’s maritime sector to connect and share experiences. Keynote speaker Brand and Marketing Strategist, Facilitator and Managing Director of Huddle Up Creative, Emma Burdett presented on personal brand and visibility and Fremantle Ports' CEO Jodie Ransom spoke candidly about her personal brand in a chat with Karyn Cooper.
