Reposted from dschool - As the bombs drop on Rafah. As the ice caps melt. As the police beat and jail us for protesting genocide. As the horrors mount, we can get caught in a trance, unable to move, unable to think, unable to get out of bed. Incapacitated. Itβs the power of shock, the depression that soon follows, the weight of powerlessness, which becomes fear. Thereβs no more hope here.
I believe that struggle is impossible without hope. Not hope in better days. Hope in each other. Hope in the invisible web that connects us. Itβs what reminds us of who we are, strengthens our gut, and gets us ready to face whatever is coming at us. When I see Palest!n!ans facing the horrors theyβre facing, I see this connected hope. They are connected to life, even in the face of seemingly total death.
I wanted to make this post and throw some tangible things in here, because we need all of us, and so if youβre feeling totally unable to move, maybe doing one of these things, or several, can help you find that hope again. Love you.
