I had the privilege of delivering a eulogy for a much-loved father, brother and uncle, surrounded by those who knew and loved him most.

Together, beside the beautiful Swan River, we shared stories, memories, laughter and tears as we celebrated a life that touched so many. As his ashes were gently released into the water and carried towards the sea, there was a deep sense of peace, knowing his story had been told, his life honoured, and his legacy remembered.

These are the moments that remind me just how important it is for every life to be celebrated and every story to be told.

1. I’m not swearing or cursing

We’re keeping it classy — not a Saturday night at the pub experience 😉
Fun? Absolutely.
Crude for shock value? Not my thing.

2. I’m not making it about me

You didn’t hire me for a one-woman show 😉
No stand-up routines. No main character energy.
This day is about your love story — not watching your celebrant perform.

3. I’m not rushing the moment

This isn’t the part we “just get through” to get to the bar ✨
The ceremony is the moment.
We pause, breathe, soak it in… and actually feel it.

4. I’m not reading a copy-and-paste script

If it sounds like I’ve said it a million times to other couples… it’s not making the cut.
Your ceremony should feel personal, intentional and genuinely you.

5. I’m not creating awkward energy

No stiff vibes. No forced jokes. No uncomfortable silence.
Just a relaxed, natural atmosphere where everyone feels connected and present 💛
