On Friday 22 May, we welcomed Warren Waddell, along with representatives from The Galston Club and Hornsby Shire Council, to commemorate the commissioning of our new generator.

We would also like to sincerely thank the NSW ClubGRANTS scheme, Hornsby RSL Club and The Galston Club for supporting the purchase of this important addition to our brigade.

On 16 May, we welcomed a group of children to the station for some hands-on fun while learning about how we maintain our trucks, equipment, and station.

It was a great opportunity to share what we do behind the scenes to help keep our brigade ready to respond when needed.

Thanks to Westleigh for the invitation to participate in the Breathing Apparatus training exercise in Thornleigh. It was a great opportunity for our crews to sharpen some skills coming into the winter months along with our neighboiring RFS brigades.

Today, members from Westleigh and other Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service brigades participated in a multi-brigade Breathing Apparatus training exercise in Thornleigh, focused on building capability in internal fire fighting and search techniques, overhaul operations, and property protection activities.

These types of exercises are physically demanding and highly realistic, helping our firefighters maintain the skills needed to operate safely and effectively in challenging environments.

Training like this is critical to maintaining operational readiness and ensuring our volunteers can continue protecting the community safely and professionally.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and supporting the exercise, including our awesome community, along with all participating crews who gave up their time to continue developing their skills 🚒 🔥

Galston Firies will be selling raffles at The Galston Club tonight from 6 pm.
The monthly raffle is our primary source of fundraising throughout the year and provides crucial funds to help keep us operational.

So, pop down, say hi and try your luck at winning a meat or veggie tray!
If you're unlucky in the raffle, just being there will give you a chance in The Galston Club Members Badge Draw!

Otherwise you have a pretty good chance at beating one of our teams at Trivia!
We would love to see you all there!

Today we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere.

In particular, we recognise the mums within our brigade — whether they’re on the frontline or supporting behind the scenes, their contributions are extraordinary.

Today, we thank them for all they do, not only as RFS members, but as leaders and role models within our brigade and the wider community.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums in our brigade and community.

This morning at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Galston, members from various agencies and associations gathered alongside the community in remembrance.

We honour the soldiers and all members of the armed forces who have served, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and those who continue to serve.

Lest we forget.
