Monday Triples were hosted by Gatton on 17 August and saw 7 rinks, 42 players in all, organised by Col Daniel. Competitors were fortunate to play on good greens, albeit in cold and windy conditions.

The jackpot did not go off and will be $210 next game.

Carsburg Advertising Signs at Gatton Bowls

Ray and Rita Carsburg started playing bowls in 1979 at the Gatton Bowls Club. Ray helped with the greens and maintenance around the club, served behind the bar on weekends and when bingo was on. He was also President and a Life Member.
Rita was President of the ladies club 5 times, Providore for years and a Selector. She also called bingo on a Saturday night. Rita is now a Life Member of the club and still enjoys playing bowls.
Daughter Vikki at the age of 15 was making sandwiches for the weekend bowls and helping with the canteen when needed. Vikki joined the club in 1995 and ran the social bowls on a Sunday morning. She held positions of President, Selector and Treasurer for the Ladies club and after they amalgamated the club was Treasurer of the new board. Vikki also ran the bingo and beach volley ball as well as refereeing the volleyball.

Monday triples were held at Gatton on 20th July and was sponsored by Goodyear Auto Care Gatton.

14 teams played in very windy conditions on good greens, having an enjoyable day of bowls.

The jackpot of $150 did not go off, and is now $180 on 17th August.

Winners on the day were:
First round Lowood Broncos team
Second round Gary Jackson supported by Gatton players.
Runners up Toowoomba Carrots
Winners Lowood wags

On the weekend of 27th and 28th June, the DDBA held the District championships of men's and ladies triples at Gatton Bowls Club.
A very successful 2 days of bowls was hosted by the Gatton Club with excellent bowls being played.
Our club looks forward to hosting more District events.

Pub day at Gatton on 30th June saw teams from North Ipswich Ipswich, Lowood and Gatton playing for the prize money in cool but fine conditions. Sponsors for the day were Betta Electrical Gatton.

Winners were:
First round - Allan Cameron's team
Second round - Col Daniel team from Gatton
Runners up - Dennis ,Handel's team from Ipswich
Overall Winners - Steve Sellars team.

The Committee and Members of the Gatton Bowls Club Inc wish to extend their heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr Boyd Wilson.

Boyd was a cherished member and active volunteer at the Club and his presence will be missed.

Monday Triples was held again at Gatton on June 15. Well done Col Daniel for organizing 9 rinks totaling 54 active bowlers. The games were played in excellent conditions and in good competitive spirit.
