November is the month of Remembrance, and The Poppy Project has been created to offer a simple yet elegant tribute of honour by planting and creating installations of primarily red handcrafted poppies made by individuals and community groups within Gawler, the Barossa Valley and beyond.

The Poppy Project which will result in an installation of red knitted and crocheted poppies being ‘planted’ in in Pioneer Park on Friday 6 November to honour the service and sacrifice of our Veterans past and present, their families and our Gawler community
To be a part of this wonderful community event, known as the ‘Twilight Poppy Planting’, please donate your knitted or crocheted red poppies to The Poppy Project. Each poppy represents gratitude, respect and the spirit of community. There are poppy baskets located in the Gawler Library in Murray Street, the Evanston Gardens Library Angle Vale Road and the reception area of the Gawler Council Offices in High Street during working hours.
Poppy patterns are also available at both of our Gawler Libraries and from Gawler RSL Sub-Branch 2 Gosford Street Gawler West on Wednesdays from 2pm until approx 6pm.
Whether you donate one poppy or one hundred poppies, each one is gratefully accepted and will be planted. 🌸🧶

There’s something about the beginning of spring that makes the world feel a little more inviting. 🌱☀️

Longer days, warmer sunshine and the simple opportunity to step outside and walk awhile.
Our shelves hold plenty of inspiration for walking — from gentle strolls and mindful wandering to adventures that take us further afield. 📚🥾
So, as spring begins, why not borrow a book, lace up your shoes and let the sunshine lead the way?
Where will your next walk take you? 🌿
