Last chance to have your say📣

Tomorrow is the last day to have your say on the Town of Gawler’s Draft Plaque and Commemorative Marker Installation Policy.

The Draft Policy aims to provide a clear, consistent and transparent approach to plaques and commemorative markers on Council land, while ensuring public spaces remain accessible, inclusive and welcoming for the broader community.

📅 Feedback closes 8 September 2026.

Applications are now open for Veterans SA Anzac Day Commemoration Fund.

Local ex-service organisations, community groups, schools and local councils can apply for projects or programs that honour veterans, commemorate Australia’s military history and keep stories of service alive across South Australia.

A total of $100,000 in funding is available this round.

🚧 Clark Road, Evanston Gardens resealing works

Clark Road is scheduled to be resealed from Monday 7 September to Tuesday 15 September 2026. weather and site conditions permitting.

To minimise disruption to commuters accessing Tambelin Station and ensure safety around the nearby childcare centre, works will be carried out at night.

Traffic controls will be in place, so please allow extra time for your journey and follow directions from traffic controllers.

Where possible, we recommend avoiding the area while works are underway.

SA Water will be undertaking bridge works on the Gawler Bypass over the Gawler River.

📅 From Sunday 6 September to mid-September
⏰ 24 hours a day, Monday to Sunday
📍 Gawler Bypass bridge over the Gawler River

Works will include bridge crossing and verge works, with the left southbound lane closed for approximately 10 days and nights.
Speed restrictions will be in place. Please slow down, follow traffic controls and allow extra time for your journey.

One of those lovely views you’re lucky enough to catch as you come into or head out of Gawler.

* A little reminder: While the canola fields make for a beautiful view, please don’t enter or trespass onto the farms. These are working farms and the livelihoods of local farmers, so let’s enjoy the view from the road and give our farmers and their crops some space.

✅ Road Open Update

Schomburgk Road is now OPEN to traffic and has been completed within the timeframe by Winslow.

Please note there is still a small amount of dirt and debris on the road surface, so motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and take care when travelling through the area. This will be cleaned up as a matter of priority.

We are aware the VMS board is still displaying "Road Closed". This sign has not yet been removed and will be updated as soon as possible.
