🌱 Have you noticed some works taking place at our Hope Garden?🌿

We are super excited to share that the first stage of the garden’s transformation is now complete! A big thank you to James from Terra Cor Landscaping for leading this work and helping bring the vision for Hope Garden to life.

Over the coming weeks, you will start to see new pathways and garden beds take shape, large boulders added for informal seating, and lots of new plants introduced, including native species that will bring colour, habitat and interest to the garden throughout the year.

There is still plenty of work ahead, but we are looking forward to watching Hope Garden gradually come to life as a welcoming community space for everyone to enjoy.💚

Our incredible young friends at Northern Bay P-12 College have been pouring their hearts into organising a very special event, and we want to see the whole community rally behind them! 🌟

They are hosting a screening of the powerful documentary ‘We Are Not Powerless’ - an extraordinary story showing what happens when a community refuses to give up. The film follows the creation of the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre (CRLC) in Indonesia, the first refugee-led school of its kind, which continues to bring hope, education, and safety to refugee children and families.

Every single dollar raised goes directly to supporting the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre, helping keep hope and education alive.

1 September is a very special day for many people around the world. In countries across the globe, Knowledge Day marks the beginning of a new school year, a day of fresh starts, learning and new possibilities. Here in Australia, 1 September also marks the beginning of Adult Learners Week.

So, it felt like the perfect day to share some incredible news: Cultura is a finalist in the Victorian Learn Local Awards for our Microbusiness for New Arrivals program! 🎉

What better day to celebrate a program that is all about learning, building confidence and opening new doors! A huge congratulations to our passionate team and, most importantly, our incredible learners.

We are looking for volunteers at Stella’s Cafe!
Do you love a cuppa, a friendly chat and making someone’s day a little brighter? Our Stella’s Cafe, located within our Residential Aged Care community at Cultura, is looking for friendly, caring volunteers to join us!
Volunteering at our special cafe is so much more than just serving coffee and delicious freshly baked goods. Stella's is a place for connection, conversation and community, where you get to spend time with our residents and help create a welcoming atmosphere for our families and guests.
No cafe experience needed as full training is provided, just a warm smile, a friendly nature and a willingness to help.

It was a privilege to attend the Financial Counselling Victoria exhibition at Parliament House, highlighting the important work of financial counsellors and the difference this sector makes in the lives of individuals, families and communities across Victoria.

A big thank you to Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic), the peak body for financial counselling in Victoria, and to all the financial counselling agencies and practitioners across the state who continue to support people experiencing financial hardship.

It was wonderful to see the sector coming together at Parliament House to strengthen awareness of the importance of ensuring people can access free, independent and culturally responsive financial counselling when they need it.
