🚨 Speeding Has Consequences – No Excuses 🚨

On Friday 22 May 2026 at approximately 12:00pm, State Highway Solo Unit members detected a 39-year-old Point Cook woman travelling at 149km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Princes Freeway near the Little River Road exit, Cocoroc.

The vehicle was safely intercepted and impounded for 30 days, with associated costs of $1,111.70.

When questioned, the driver stated she was rushing to collect her children from childcare.

Let’s be clear: there is never a valid reason to speed. Decisions made in seconds can have lifelong consequences — not only for you, but for every other road user.

As we move towards The King's Birthday long weekend, police will be out in force targeting the behaviours that put lives at risk on our roads:

🚗 Speeding
🍺 Drink and drug driving
😴 Fatigue
📱 Distraction
🔒 Seatbelt compliance

Every one of these factors plays a role in serious and fatal collisions. Enforcement will be high-visibility and zero tolerance.

Your choices matter.
Slow down. Stay focused. Drive safely.
Because no appointment, no excuse, and no destination is worth risking a life.
