On Sunday the 30th August 2026 at approximately 4:00PM, Colac Highway Patrol detected a white Triumph motorcycle travelling at 153km/h in a 100km/h zone on Timboon Colac Road Bungador.

The rider, a 30-year-old Noble Park man was found to be unlicensed to ride a motorcycle and returned a positive roadside drug test.

His motorcycle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1250 and he will face charges at the Colac Magistrates Court at a later date.

“It’s a shocking feeling when your hard-earned money has gone.”

Mannu thought he was paying his builder. Instead, scammers stole his $20,000 deposit.

On Wednesday 26/08/26 at about 10:56 PM Geelong Highway Patrol detected a white Volkswagen Golf driving towards Melbourne on the Princes Freeway Lara at 218km/h.

The vehicle failed to stop for police and was followed by the Police air wing to a location in Werribee where a 35 year old female from Werribee was arrested.

Police also located what is suspected to be GHB and Methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The vehicle was impounded, and the driver was remanded in custody by police.

Today, and every day, we remember Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart and the tragedy that occurred in Porepunkah on 26 August 2025.

We thank everyone for their support and solidarity on this difficult day.

We will remember them.

If you have a privately owned CCTV system at your home or business, you can voluntarily register it. If an incident occurs nearby, police may contact you if your footage could assist an investigation.

✅ CCTV systems covering:

Driveways
Front yards
Streets
Rear laneways
Security doorbells with recording capability

📍 Camera locations and areas captured
📍 How long footage is stored for

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged four men following an alleged copper theft at a recycling plant in Fyansford yesterday.

Police were on patrol along Hamilton Highway when they were flagged down by workers at the site and told copper was allegedly being stolen by four unknown males about 3.20am.

As officers moved in to arrest the men, it is alleged they entered a stolen Toyota Prado and collided with a police vehicle while attempting to flee.

Officers arrested a 33-year-old Craigieburn man, a 49-year-old Sunshine West man as well as a 39-year-old man and 40-year-old man from Albanvale.
