🌟 Flags, Sportsmanship, and Success at the Summer Lightning Premiership! 🌟Yesterday, our Year 6 students from across Northern Bay College headed to Geelong Grammar School for the District Interschool Sporting event—and what an incredible day it was!
Competing in their chosen sports against other district schools, our students put on a terrific display of determination, teamwork, and pride on the playing fields.
Hard work in our Year 5/6 SEEDLINGS program certainly paid off!
The program has prepared our students beautifully to be highly competitive while developing excellent sportsmanship, both with their teammates and opposing schools.
We are incredibly proud to bring home 3 flags and a fantastic runner-up finish:

MEET OUR VM STUDENTS 🎬

Our Film Night will encourage the sharing of individual stories, learning from different experiences and supporting the CISARUA Refugee Learning Centre.

Next week, the Family Learning Centre and Community Hub will be celebrating Women’s Health Week, Australia’s largest week dedicated to women’s health.
This year’s Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week theme, “Do It Anyway,” encourages women to take small, positive steps towards improving their health and wellbeing.

So great to se Mia following her passion and embracing new opportunities.

Geelong Follow the Dream Year 11 student Mia Treadway-Kirk is the proud recipient of a refurbished laptop from the Polly Farmer Foundation, presented by Department of Education Koorie Education Support Officers Damien Wilson and Richard Fry.

Mia is currently completing a school-based apprenticeship in Childcare at Northern Bay P-12 College while working towards her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Her journey is an inspiring reminder of what can happen when young people reconnect with education, discover their passion and embrace new opportunities.

After considering leaving school in Year 10, Mia re-engaged with Follow the Dream and found her calling in working with children. Since then, she has demonstrated outstanding commitment to both her studies and workplace training, completing assessments ahead of schedule and consistently showing a strong work ethic.

Her dedication has certainly been noticed. Impressed by her performance, Mia’s supervisors have offered her a full-time position next year, allowing her to continue building her career while studying towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

With dreams of one day owning and operating her own childcare centre, Mia is already laying the foundations for an exciting and successful future.

R U OK? Day is coming up on Thursday 10 September and we are encouraging all students to get involved by wearing a splash of yellow to school.

This is not a casual dress day, students are simply encouraged to add a touch of yellow to their regular school uniform.

R U OK? Day is an important opportunity to remind our students and school community to check in with one another and start meaningful conversations.

We look forward to seeing our school community come together and show their support for this important day.

🎭 IT’S OFFICIAL… OUR 2027 PRODUCTION HAS BEEN REVEALED! 🎭

We are absolutely thrilled and excited to announce our 2027 College Production!

Students were introduced to the production yesterday, and there were certainly some very excited faces around the College as the big reveal was made! 🤩

Students interested in being part of the show have been provided with a link to complete an Expression of Interest form. So, if your child would love the opportunity to take part, encourage them to fill out the form.

Being part of a College production is a big commitment, with rehearsals taking place after school and some Sundays. But we know from experience that the hard work, dedication and teamwork make it an incredibly rewarding experience.

Following the success of our very first production, we are ready to take things to the next level. We can't wait to see our students come together, discover their talents and create a show to be remembered! 🌟

What an incredible two days at our Hendy Campus last week!
Our Year 3 to 8 students had the fantastic opportunity to participate in a Wheelchair Clinic, where they jumped into the fast-paced, high-energy world of Wheelchair AFL.
It was wonderful to see our students leaning into new challenges, building empathy, and showing outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship on the court.
The absolute highlight of the clinic was the epic Student vs. Teachers game.
The competition was fierce, the laughs were loud, and the school spirit was at an all-time high!
A huge thank you to everyone who made this inclusive and inspiring experience possible at our Hendy Campus.
