Practice makes perfect, and perfection is what we train for, week after week, after week. We are looking for properties around Geelong with naturally fallen trees and branches that we can use for chainsaw training sessions under the supervision of SES trainers.

⛈☔ It's possible that we may have a bit of unpleasant weather coming our way over the next few days. Now is the time to prepare your home and yourself.

A strong cold front is expected to move across Victoria this weekend, with the worst conditions forecast from Sunday into Monday, bringing widespread rain, strong winds and the potential for localised flooding.

VICSES is urging Victorians to prepare now by:

• Securing loose outdoor items.
• Clearing gutters and drains.
• Staying up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings through the VicEmergency app.
• Avoiding unnecessary travel during severe weather where possible.

Those travelling to the alpine region should remain vigilant as conditions can change. Download the VicEmergency app and set up a Watch Zone for your destination to receive the latest info.

For emergency assistance due to storms or floods, call SES on 132 500.

SES Geelong Unit called out to support Victoria Police last night in Geelong West. Victoria Police requesting resources to support the deactivation of an object found late yesterday afternoon.
A long and cold night was endured by a great crew, disciplined and who did the work required so well.

Large quantity of Sandbags, lighting and scene support.
Great job by the large crew.
