August is here, and that means Family History Month 2026 has begun!

Family History Month is a nationwide celebration of discovering our roots and connecting with the stories that have shaped who we are.

There are lots of fantastic events listed on the AFFHO What’s On page, with activities taking place across Australia. Many are available online, in person or in a hybrid format, so whether you are just beginning your family history journey or have been researching for years, there is something for everyone.

From Tuesday, 4 August, the Geraldton Family History Society will also have a special display on exhibition throughout August at the Geraldton Regional Library.
