Fire Suppression Technician

We currently have a position vacant for a qualified Fire Suppression Technician who has a sound mechanical background, excellent OH&S awareness and a solid background within the Fire industry.

Role
• Installation, repair and maintenance works to mobile fire suppression systems including foam, powder, dual agent, ROP and LOP
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
• Updating fire equipment registers, inspection test reports and documentation
• Maintenance and service of firefighting equipment such as extinguishers, hose reels and blankets

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong work ethic and high level of motivation
• Well developed customer service focus and friendly approach
• Demonstrated ability to manage your own workload
• Current EAHL licence is beneficial, however not essential
• Current drivers licence and high-risk tickets such as first aid, EWP, working at heights and confined space
• Ability to pass a medical, drug & alcohol screen and police clearance

This is a full time position and will require some out of town travel when necessary.

Remuneration will be relevant to qualifications and experience.

We're growing! Due to gaining extra contracts, Midwest Fire & Safety Supplies are seeking a motivated and confident FIRE SERVICE TECHNICIAN to join our team.
To be successful in the role of Fire Service Technician you will be able to carry out the following duties, including but not limited to:
•Perform monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various fire equipment, extinguishers, suppression and detection systems
•Installation, repair and maintenance works to mobile fire suppression systems
•Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
•Service and test a variety of fire safety equipment
•Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment
•Ability to travel to remote locations unsupervised
•Availability to carry out After Hours Call Outs
Requirements:
•Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
•Valid WA driver’s license
•Able to provide/arrange Police Clearance
•Ability to pass a drug & alcohol screening
•Ability to pass mine site medical examination
•Available to travel out of town as required
•Servicing tools are provided, however use of personal equipment may be required
•Work vehicle and work phone provided to fulfill your position.
•Current EAHL licence is beneficial, however not essential
People with a mechanical and/or trade background will be highly regarded. Training will be provided.

We are aware of the telstra outage causing issues with Fire Panels reporting back to DFES. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do until Telstra fixes the issue - they do not currently have a restoration ETA!
If you still have faults after restoration has occurred, please contact the office and we will come out and investigate.
