Today our school community comes together to recognise Cystic Fibrosis Day. 65 Roses are used as a symbol of hope, awareness and support for those living with Cystic Fibrosis.

We especially wrap our arms around one of our very own students, Jesse in Pre-Primary, who lives with this condition every single day with incredible strength and courage.

At Wandina Primary School, we believe in building a community grounded in kindness, understanding and inclusion. Over the last few days we have had the important opportunity to learn more about Cystic Fibrosis from Jesse’s Mum, Tegan. In this way we show support for Jesse and his family, and remind one another of the power of compassion and connection.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today meaningful and for continuing to create a school where every child feels seen, supported and valued. 💙🩵

Today is Public Education Day.

At Wandina Primary School, we are proud to be part of a public education system that welcomes every child, values every family and believes every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Public education is about equity, inclusion, opportunity and ensuring every child has access to high quality teaching and learning.

Every day, our staff work tirelessly to create engaging classrooms, foster positive relationships and opportunities for students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

We are proud of the way our school community comes together to support one another and build a culture where every child is known, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. 💙🩵

The National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual Australian event that brings millions of children, parents, teachers, and library lovers together to share a single book. Organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), it promotes the value of reading and literacy.
This year's featured book, Luna Roo, was an inspiring underdog story about courage, teamwork, and believing in yourself.
Thanks to Mrs Mitchell for bringing us all together to share in the LOVE of reading! 💙🩵

As we approach the beginning of National Reconciliation Week we are reminded of the opportunity for us to come together as a school community to learn, reflect and grow.

We are proud to acknowledge and celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to continue building a school where every student and family feels valued, respected and connected.

Reconciliation is about relationships, understanding and walking together. At Wandina Primary School, we know that by listening, learning and working alongside one another, we create a stronger and more inclusive community for all.

This week, our students and staff will engage in meaningful conversations and learning experiences that help deepen our understanding of Australia’s shared history and our shared future.

Together, we can continue to build a culture of respect, belonging and unity. 💙🩵

Thank you to our Year 1 students and teachers for this beautiful video.

Over the next few weeks we will be hosting 3 parent information sessions for Kindergarten, Pre-primary and Year 1 families. We aim to provide key information and strategies parents can employ to support their child in all aspects of school. We look forward to seeing you there as we work to consistently build positive partnerships between home and school.
