For non-urgent enquiries, please contact the Albion Park Fire Control Centre 02 4230 8200. The Gerringong Rural Fire Brigade was formed in 1948 to protect and serve the Gerringong, Gerroa and Werri Beach communities. The Brigade is currently comprised of about 30 operational volunteers, both men and women. We are always interested in welcoming new members. To join the brigade, it involves filling
out some paperwork, a background check, and undertaking an interview. Upon acceptance, you begin basic training. This involves learning about fire behaviour, the equipment we carry, methods of firefighting, safety, and teamwork. There are currently no fitness standards. Young people aged 16 and 17 will require parental consent.
