Students from Bundaberg North, Gin Gin and Kepnock State High Schools came together for an inspiring workshop launching Unit 4: Art as Alternate.

Students explored creativity in new and unexpected ways…making their own brushes from natural materials and creating pigments from everyday kitchen ingredients to “paint without paint.”

Through hands-on experimentation, they investigated materiality by transforming non-traditional materials into meaningful artworks. To finish, students challenged conventional display methods, discovering innovative ways to present and document their work to enhance audience engagement.

A fantastic day of creativity, collaboration and thinking outside the box!

Happy Cleaners Day to our amazing cleaning team!

Today we would like to recognise and thank the wonderful people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

From early mornings to late afternoons, their hard work often goes unnoticed, but their contribution is invaluable. They help create an environment where our students can learn, play, and thrive every day.

Thank you for your dedication, pride in your work, and the care you show for our school community. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our cleaners today – our school simply wouldn't be the same without them!

Due to an area wide Telstra outage, school currently has no phones or internet, and as such are non-contactable. We have been advised restoration will be prioritised, however we unfortunately don’t have a timeframe. Our office is open for walk ins if you need to get in touch. We are unable to monitor Facebook also.

What a fantastic time our students had at "Torture the Teacher" today! 😄

Students eagerly lined up for the chance to help stick a teacher to the wall using strips of tape, and they certainly rose to the challenge! There were plenty of laughs, lots of teamwork, and a great deal of excitement as they worked together to see if the tape would hold.

A huge thank you to our brave teacher who volunteered to take part and helped make the event such a memorable experience for everyone involved. The smiles and laughter from our students said it all!

Well done to everyone who participated and helped make the day so much fun!

Congratulations to Tane Hart on an outstanding achievement!

Tane has spent the past week in NSW representing Queensland School Sport in the 13–18 Years Boys Softball team.

Despite a challenging week that included venue changes, cancelled games, and wet weather, the boys showed great resilience and were eventually able to play some fantastic softball.

The Queensland team finished the tournament in style, defeating NSW 5–1 in the grand final to claim the gold medal! 🥇

Congratulations to the entire Queensland team on their success, and a special congratulations to Tane on representing his school and state with pride. We are incredibly proud of your achievement!
