Please be advised that the single lane over the Weld Street Bridge is due to be changed over this week. The changeover is scheduled to commence on Thursday 3 September and will take approximately half a day to complete.

During the changeover, the lights will be on red whilst moving the barrier to ensure public safety. Wait times will be minimal.

The Weld Street Bridge Replacement project is on track to be completed by the third week of December. We would like to thank the community for the patience as this major capital project continues. ๐Ÿ™

The Community Citizen of the Year Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate the positive impact of individuals, groups and events who are engaged and committed to our local community.

The Awards are made up of four categories:
๐Ÿ”ธ Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals over 16 years)
๐Ÿ”ธ Young Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 16-30 years)
๐Ÿ”ธ Senior Community Citizen of the Year (for individuals aged 65 years and over)
๐Ÿ”ธ Active Citizenship (for community groups or events)

Please be reminded, the Shire has introduced a summer and winter opening schedule of its waste facilities to ensure services are financially sustainable, efficient and aligned with actual community usage.

As of today, 1 September 2026 the Summer Season hours are now in effect, please see the below changes to opening days/hours.

The Shire will continue to monitor usage and is open to community feedback, adjustments to opening hours will be considered if there is evidence that the current arrangements are not meeting community needs.

We appreciate that changes to opening hours may require some residents to adjust when they visit the facility. We encourage residents to plan their visits around the available opening times and make use of the waste services provided across the Shire.
