A sincere thank you to Sandra and Reg Pugh for delivering such an insightful and meaningful presentation on Rare Ovarian Cancer.

We’re proud to support the Great Queensland Rail Trail Adventure – Ride for Research 2026. This July, an inspiring group of riders will cycle over 600 kilometres from Gladstone to Brisbane across five days, following three of Queensland’s historic rail trails.

This incredible journey is about more than the distance—it’s about raising vital funds and awareness for Rare Ovarian Cancer Research, helping drive life-changing breakthroughs and working towards a cure for women and girls impacted by this disease.

If you’d like to donate and help with the much needed research for this important cause, you can do it right here: https://www.rocinc.org.au

Look at how our local community turned bikes into wheelchairs! 🚲♿

Sunrise Rotary are building basic, robust wheelchairs with the help of Toolooa State High School art students and Gladstone South State School.

These robust wheelchairs are sent to developing countries, given freely to those who need them. Simple wheelchairs like this will completely change the life of a disabled person and their family, as it allows both the disabled person and their carer to be more independent and productive.

Big thanks to Jo for dropping in a bike helmet to add to our helmet drive for a project we are heading up, to send bikes to remote schools and assist with school engagement with the local kids.
Got one in good or new condition sitting at home? We’d love the donation. They can be dropped if at the REMAX Gold office at 2 Mellefont Street during business hours Monday - Friday.
Thanks again Jo

Club members, Gloria, Marg & Michele volunteered with South Gladstone Primary School Rotakids and Chappy K on Thursday, to help with making a No Bake Muesli Slice. The exercise helped with instruction following, working as a team and sharpening up their food prep skills with the end product going to places the kids have chosen. Our club donated $300 to the Rotakids group for their project to come to life and all reports are that they had a great time completing it. Well done kids 😊

Our sponsored Interact club at Trinity College got stuck into cleaning up collection bins for recyclable drink containers this week. The students will be fundraising for Interact projects by collecting drink bottles at the school. They have certainly hit the ground running since forming in the last few weeks 😊

🚨 Bike Helmet Donations Appreciated 🚨
Help us send some bike helmets to remote schools! Rotary Sunrise Gladstone is in the process of putting together 20 - 40 bikes to send out to a couple of remote school communities, to help engage the kids with their schooling and their own programs, to encourage regular school attendance. We did this a couple of years ago with Timber Creek and Yarallin students and teachers and the program achieved great success. We’ve got the bikes mostly covered (solid, good condition BMX bikes also welcome)but the kids need helmets to ride safely and we’d love your donations of helmets in good condition (or new) to send out with them. If you can help, please drop them off to the REMAX Gold office at 2 Mellefont Street in West Gladstone. It’s a fantastic program and keep an eye out for some video to come of the kids and the success of this initiative. Thank you in advance Gladstone 😊🚲
