As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we give thanks to all the Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Members for their service to the community.
At our recent AGM, Glen Forrest welcomed two new Lieutenants Sam and Sara to our brigade leadership team joining our Captain Glen, 1st Lieutenant Ayden and Lieutenant Frank.

Boya Quarry Bushfire 🔥

Crews from the shire of Mundaring and around Perth have been working hard to contain a Bushfire in Darlington and Boya, With Glen Forrest crewing multiple shifts since the fire began.

Safe travels for our three members, plus a Darlington Brigade member who have departed this afternoon, for a 3 night deployment to the Boddington incident as part of a metropolitan task force. Long after the initial fire front has passed and the risk reduced, are days and nights of work mopping up and patrolling.
While we celebrate the New Year our team will be out working with many other volunteers! Make sure your New Year's plans include preparing or updating your bushfire plan. There is an easy to use planning tool on Emergency WA. emergency.wa.gov.au/plan or in the Emergency WA app.

🔥 Fire Weather and Facility Update 🔥
🚨 The Fire Danger Rating for Thursday, 25 December is Extreme.
⛔ A Total Fire Ban declared by DFES is in place until 11:59pm tomorrow night, unless extended.
🚜 A Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban (HVMB) has been imposed by the Shire from 7am to 6pm. During this time there must be no off-road activity or operation of internal combustion engines.
🏗️ Transfer stations will be closed while the HVMB is in place.
Stay safe and cool, have a designated driver if you’re drinking and enjoy your day. Don’t forget double demerits until 5 Jan 2026.
📞 Report all fires immediately to Triple Zero (000).

🎅Santa Run Map 🎅

Hi everyone, Santa's elves have shared a map of Santa's planned journey around Glen Forrest on Saturday the 6th!

Santa's tour starts at about 9 am. Sorry if your street isn't marked, but he has squeezed in as many streets as possible given his busy schedule. If your street has been missed, don't worry. We will be stopping in at the Train Park at the end so anyone can come and say high 👋
