🔥🚒 🎊 On Saturday Night our Brigade Celebrated our wonderful Volunteers at our Annual Brigade Dinner. We also looked back on and celebrated an Amazing year for our Brigade.
In the Captains speech, he noted our new tanker one, Acquiring BA; with 10members now qualified to use it, the reinstitution of our Brigade Running Team, our Juniors program still going strong and their first time attending a CFA Juniors Camp. Among other things.

We saw members receive their service awards, who together, have a combined service history of 330 years!!!! We had a National emergency medal presented and also celebrated our own Brigade awards, New recruit, Hot shot award, Spirit of Glenlyon and a once off, Don’t forget your branch Award!

🎉👏🏻 CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Award recipients. We’re so Lucky to have you all ❤️

Apologies for not getting photos of you all!!!!! It was a very busy night!!!!

Over the next few weeks we’re holding some come and try sessions, so the more the merrier. FREE of charge.

SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES

Not all of our call outs are to fight fires. At Glenlyon CFA we’re also about preventing them.

CFA's free smoke detector installation program is available for residents in Glenlyon and surrounds for folk who need a hand. If you, or someone you know has no smoke alarms, alarms that are old, or alarms that have stopped working, our brigade will come out and install new ones, free of charge.

It's aimed especially at older residents, people living on their own, and anyone for whom getting up a ladder or buying and fitting an alarm just isn't easy.

Did you know most home fire deaths happen at night, while people are asleep. When you’re sleeping you can’t smell smoke and a working smoke alarm is what wakes you in time to get out. With heaters and electric blankets all getting more use through a cold Central Victorian winter, now is the time to ensure your home is covered and you and your family are safe. Having a working smoke detector in your bedroom is strongly recommended.
