IMPORTANT NOTICE to all landholders who undertake burning activities. Due to current and forecast conditions the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) in the CLARENCE VALLEY LGA will now commence on 1 AUGUST 2026.

From Saturday 1 August 2026 landholders are required to obtain a FIRE SAFETY PERMIT from the NSW Rural Fire Service before undertaking any burning activities. Permits are free of charge and can be applied for online via our public website https://nswrfsprod.service-now.com/guardian_csp?id=guardian_cat_item&sys_id=578b27b4c360b1104a9cdc311501313e or by calling the Clarence Valley Fire Control Centre on 02 6644 5135.

Landholders who wish to conduct burning on their properties are still required to ensure they have the necessary environmental approvals (if required). Landholders must also notify the RFS and their neighbours at least 24 hours prior to conducting any burning. For more information regarding notifications and safe burning practices visit our website https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/farm-fire-safety/safeburning

Glenreagh Timber Festival

πŸš’ What an incredible day! πŸš’

A huge thank you to all of our local and surrounding brigade members who gave up their time today. It was a mammoth effort, and we couldn't have done it without each and every one of you.

We hope everyone who visited the Rural Fire Service display at the Glenreagh Timber Festival had a fantastic day, had plenty of fun, and learnt something valuable about what we do and how to stay safe. I know we gave out around 500 show bags across the day!!!

Did you or your child get the chance to have a go with the fire hose? πŸš’πŸ’¦ We'd love to hear about your favourite part of the day! Let us know in the comments so we know what you loved and can make next year even better.

Stay tuned over the next day or two as we'll be sharing some of our favourite photos from the day! πŸ“ΈπŸ˜Š

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to say hello, we loved being part of such a fantastic community event!

πŸš’ Behind the Scenes... πŸš’
It's been all hands on deck as our volunteers have been busy planning, packing, sorting and preparing for the Glenreagh Timber Festival this Saturday, 25th July! ❀️

Show bags are packed, activities are ready, and we can't wait to spend the day with our community!

πŸŽ‰ Just ONE more sleep! πŸŽ‰

Who's excited? πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Who's coming along?

Be sure to visit us in the Junior Emergency Response Area, where you'll find plenty of fun for the whole family!

πŸ”₯ Have a go at putting out a pretend fire with the fire hose. 🎁 Grab a FREE RFS show bag (while stocks last!). πŸš’ Chat with our friendly volunteers about becoming Bush Fire Ready and what it's like to volunteer with the RFS.

🐨 And keep an eye out for Smokey the Koala, who'll be roaming around the Junior Emergency Response Area and stopping for plenty of photos throughout the day! πŸ“Έ

We can't wait to see everyone there for a fantastic day of fun, learning and community spirit.

See you at the Glenreagh Timber Festival! β€οΈπŸš’πŸŒΏ
