We always hear "if its flooded, forget it" but maybe we need a little visual reminder of what's at stake if you do drive through water.

Take care in the wet.

Our 2026 AGM is officially done and dusted! 🎉

There were a number of appointments and awards handed out on the night, and we’d love to share some of those achievements with our community.

👏 Charlie was awarded his 40 Years of Long Service with the brigade, an incredible milestone celebrated alongside his crew members and close family. Congratulations Charlie on such a momentous achievement and thank you for your decades of dedication and service.

👏 Daryl received a NSW Premier's Flood Emergency Citation for his contribution and service to the 2022- 2023 NSW Floods emergency response. A well-deserved recognition for the effort and leadership shown during a challenging time.

👏 Charlie also officially passed the torch... or rather, the helmet on to Booker as Senior Deputy Captain. We wish Booker all the best in the role and hope he looks after the helmet just a little better than Charlie did! 😂

👏 And finally, congratulations to Theresa, who was voted in as President, becoming the first female President of our brigade! She joins Shez as Secretary and Shaunagh as Treasurer. 💪

Congratulations as well to everyone else appointed to positions throughout the brigade organisation. Thank you all for your ongoing commitment and dedication to serving our community.

A big welcome and thank you to the Coffs Harbour and District Motorcycle Restorers Club for coming out to the Glenreagh Brigade Fire Shed for your annual ride today.

It was great to see everyone enjoying a sausage sizzle, coffee, tea, and plenty of sweet treats while catching up and sharing stories. Community engagement like this is what it’s all about, bringing people together and supporting one another.

There were some very nice bikes on display, all beautifully restored and exceptionally well maintained. A credit to the club and its members. Thanks again for visiting, we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Happy Mother’s Day 🌹

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere, but especially those in our family.

Across the state, thousands of mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, stepmothers and aunties give their time to help protect their communities. Whether they're on the frontline or supporting behind the scenes their contributions are extraordinary.

Today, we thank them for all they do, not just as RFS members, but as leaders and role models in our brigades and communities. ❤️💐

As we move into the colder months, fire agencies often see an increase in house fires as residents use their fireplaces and heaters to stay warm. With temperatures dropping and possible snow forecast across parts of the state in the coming days, it’s important you know how to stay safe.

Remember, you won’t smell smoke while you’re asleep, so make sure your bleeping smoke alarms are working. A working smoke alarm can save your life and give you and your family valuable time to escape a burning home.

⚠️ Important Fire Information for North Coast Landholders⚠️

The Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) is a reliable measure of soil moisture and bush fire potential.
The latest KBDI anomaly map shows that much of the northeastern part of NSW is drier than average — with the Clarence Valley currently sitting in the highest category.

Combined with very low Summer and Autumn rainfall and little rain forecast for the coming dry season, conditions are unusually dry for this time of year.

Local Brigades have been extremely busy with escaped burn-offs, pile burns, and campfires that become of control.

Please take extra care with any fires in the open this season:
✅ Ensure conditions are suitable before lighting up
✅ Always notify the NSW RFS and your neighbours beforehand
✅ Supervise fires at all times and never leave them unattended
